We stayed 3 nights in the Montreal Residence Inn. The location is good for tourists to use as a “home base.” The décor is very modern and eclectic, but not very comfortable. The sofa bed couch is only big enough for 2 small people to sit on which was disappointing, and in our room there were not enough lights. The bathroom was small but adequate. The elevators are slow and very small. Also from when housekeeping staff arrive in the morning until they leave in the afternoon they are very loud talking and laughing with each other. I think they forget paying guests are actually behind the doors. There was a huge construction crane across the street from the hotel. Minimal work was being done when we were there but for travelers in the future this could be an issue you may want to check.
The breakfast buffet was a plus and the staff that worked it were very attentive to what items needed to be refilled. I think Marriott needs to pay some attention to this hotel as there are many areas for improvement here.More
