Gastronomic Restaurant with Intention and Potential

The dining room and the bar located at Vogue hotel have a stunning design. We had dinner and chose à la carte : shared vegetarian panais/turnips dish, my guest had salmon and I had cod+miso and two glasses of white wines. Menu was short which is ok. Wines were good. We comfortably sat at the bar and the staff was informative, engaging, friendly and professional. Peruvian born Chef Antonio Parks cooking is Asian fusion with French and Peruvian influences. The restaurant is young with great ambition and great potential, a lot to reflect and improve to reach the level of culinary experience of a starred institution. We paid 315 Cnd and I will come back.

Perfection

What a lovely stay. Staff, accommodations, location, room service, cafe, and restaurant all top notch. Everything was perfect from check in to check out. Centrally located and accessible. Everyone was extremely pleasant. Appreciate the hospitality and look forward to returning. We highly recommend.

Nice hotel. But better in Montreal.

We now have 2 daughters at McGill and usually stay at the Fairmont in Montreal but wanted to try the Vogue for a change. We have also stayed at le Germain and this hotel is comparable. Same difficulty with check-in/valet parking given it is on a one way street! Michael helped us out with that and he was great at the door. Young woman at Reception was not friendly and didn’t welcome us, tell us about hotel amenities, etc. Staff at the coffee shop were lovely. Our king deluxe room was a good size and well appointed. Le labo santal 33 toiletries which I love. But … we were street facing on the second floor. Holy smokes it was loud on Montagne street on a Saturday night!! Lasted until 2:30 am 😫. And we were directly above the bar/restaurant so always heard music. Only 2 nights so we didn’t move but we never have this issue staying in a very high floor at the Fairmont. Glad to try it out but will return to Fairmont n the future.

Room tip: Avoid low street facing floors!

Great location newly rennovated

Pros: Great location near lots of stores and businesses in the downtown area, helpful service, food at the cafe and restaurant was good. The hotel underwent a renovation a couple years ago and the rooms and lobby/common areas look very new. The style is very hip/modern. The rooms are large. The hotel offers valet and there are also several parking options nearby. It takes about 2 minutes to get a taxi or Uber from the lobby area.

Cons: There was a delay getting into our room when we arrived because they were still doing housekeeping checks. Despite this, the room they put us in had water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom. Not sure why this was missed and checked us into this room before this was addressed. The rest of the hotel was spotless and seemed impeccably maintained, so I'm not sure what the issue with this particular room.

Room tip: There is a great french bistro around the corner from this hotel.

Very disappointing

We booked two suites and despite checking in @ 5PM, one was not even ready. Housekeeping had yet to service the room. It wasn't ready until close to 7PM and when we finally accessed the room, we discovered that the kitchen trash had not been emptied and it smelled. Moreover the tissue boxes were empty and not replaced, and in August the radiator was on and it took two tries by maintenance to shut it off. It's get better, the restaurant staff are very friendly but the kitchen takes forever to prepare the food. If this was my hotel I would be embarrassed. We used to stay here all the time when it was a Loew's property and clearly never encountered such issues. We will not be visiting this property again on our frequent trips to Montreal.
