“Huge room, great location”
Reviewed 5 June 2012

We stayed in the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure for just one night as we were flying back to the UK from Montreal airport the next day. Our room was very large and had a great bed, and was finished to a very high standard, as you would expect from a Hilton. We actually wished we were staying for longer so that we could take advantage of the beautiful pool and bar area. As it was, the hotel was in a perfect location for exploring Montreal, situated right next to the main train station and the Metro and within an easy walk of the Old Town and other main sights. A taxi to the airport was 40 CAN dollars. The staff were friendly and bilingual, so I didn't have to use my very rusty French for check in or to ask them to store our bags on the last day! The one negative we had was that there was no free WiFi access in the rooms, although you could access it for free in the communal areas.

One tip: the main bar inside the hotel served delicious food, although the price did make my eyes water a little. Think it was mainly the alcohol that was expensive. However, I would definitely have eaten there again, as the meal was wonderful.

My wife and I spent 5 days at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure and all I can say is , we
had a very pleasant time. EVERYONE was very helpful, accommodating, friendly & pleasant. We will definitely recommend this Hilton Hotel, to anyone that will travel to Montreal. We would like to especially thank, Paul C., Guy S., Valerie G., All 3 worked in the executive lounge. Also Chantal Beaudoin (concierge), who helped us tremendously. Thank u so very much, for making our vacation, a very special one.

Yours truly, Kosmo & Kathy

This was a getaway weekend for my wife and me and we were not disappointed. The hotel was first-class, clean and nicely laid out. The rooftop gardens are a peaceful oasis that feel nothing like the urban environment they are in the midst of. The breakfast was very good including fresh croissants and artisan bread, fresh Montreal style bagels, and good quality cheeses. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is connected to the underground city and is walking distance from the core of downtown action. The weather happened to be lovely that weekend so that probably helped, but I had wished we could have stayed a week, and plan to book later this summer for another weekend.

Room Tip: Look for an executive suite; they have pay-in-advance specials.

Arrived late after making my booking and paying two weeks ago on line in the Uk.
Sadly got pickpocketed on way into Canada so no credit cards or Canadian $
Reception demanding deposit of credit card or 50$ and really didn't get it!
Manager eventually resolved issue but made me feel more like a victim!

Room I recieved 1103 was tired with extreemly noisy AC, switches hanging off wall in bathroom and lift noise making sure I don't need a wake up call.

This said its a nice location and has potential. Think I was just unlucky. Going back this Friday so cannot be that bad!

Dear Brian Surrey, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to read about your misadventure on your way to Canada. We are also sorry that the agent was not more compassionate in assisting you. However, we are happy to read that you stayed with us and we took good note of your observations regarding the room. We were not successful in locating your reservation for Friday. We invite you to contact me directly so I can attend to you personally.

Best regards.

Went to the Hilton in winter... true it looks like a bunker, but the Japanese garden even in winter is great.

Rooms are average to good, service is good and location is excellent. And guess what is it very warm in winter... what you are looking for.

This hotel occupies the top floors of the building it is in, so Reception is up the elevator 20-some floors. Thus, all rooms appear to have a nice elevated city view. There is also a rooftop pool. All was satisfactory at this hotel and staff were friendly. Montreal is an expensive city. I paid $180/night here, which was a special conference rate. A taxi in from the airport is $40 flat rate ($50 USD with tip), so I took the #747 Airport Express Bus for $8 into downtown. It stops a couple blocks from the hotel, but be sure to push the stop button before your Stop #5 as the driver only stops at requested stops. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to Old Montreal. For inexpensive meals, head down to the first floor and into the Food Court in the connected office building.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to have good city view.
