Got a deal when we booked, and for what we paid, it was a bargain!

Really nice and new hotel, smaller room, but great location. And the breakfast, wow, really good! And the hotel is located in the same building as a really nice restaurant!

This place is a hidden little gem. The rooms were tastefully decorated and well appointed. Comfy bed and linens and all the niceties are there. The location is also very good if you are doing business or sight seeing downtown. I would highly recommend it.

Absolutely fabulous little gem of a boutique hotel, great location down town Montreal, walking distance to all the best places: Montreal Art Museum, shopping, Crescent st (restaurants & bars). Beautiful, thoughtfully designed modern space, interesting modern art in the lobby; the hotel is adjacent to a very good French restaurant (a simple breakfast of coffee service, bread, croissants, yogurts & jams there is included). Our suite was well-designed - with spare but chic modern décor, beautifully apoulstered window seat with a view of the city, large bed: I gave 3 stars - took 2 stars off for bedding: having a goose down pillows and/or comforter would have been nice, pillows were a bit hard (synthetic) and I ended up sleeping without a pillow. Interesting natural wood logs as bed side tables; the most surprising and fab part of the room was the bathroom: a peek-a-boo glass shower - the curtain to which could be opened from the outside - a different and sexy vibe, cute touch for couples. Large bathroom with a nice shower w multiple jets. Expensive-smelling, quality soap and toiletries. Overall, room was very clean, included a wardrobe to hang clothes, with robes and slippers. The hotel staff is class-act: manager Renat and his staff went out of their way to accommodate us and see to every need and every question.

Room Tip: Try to get a suite if you can, with the large peek-a-boo bathroom shower/very cool and different.

The colours and the random abstract art pieces add to the cool factor. Even the rooms maintained the 'out-there' theme -- while providing basic comforts. The washroom with the the black and white tiles was very cool. Bed was also very comfortable.

Please note that the restaurant downstairs is very lively and there is a constant buzz coming into the room, especially the one we were set up in. Fortunately we were only there Friday, as the restaurant/bar closes around 10. The buzz coming through is a buzz you get accustomed to living in a city. On a Saturday however, it's a very loud spot.

We recently stayed here for a long weekend - having travelled from Europe.

This is a very well located Downtown Hotel - close to the main shopping areas and universities. It's also got Rue Crescent right around the corner for lots of restaurants and bars.

As noted by others ... don't let the outside put you off ... once you are inside it's very nice - and has been thoughtfully renovated throughout. The reception is very pleasant and the check in was fast and efficient.

We had a couple of minor housekeeping issues during our stay; but these were quickly resolved.

Free wifi throughout the hotel ... which was fairly reliable.

The reason I didn't give 5/5 ... is the breakfast. I am from / live in Europe, so I fully understand the 'continental style' breakfast concept, which is on offer in the sister restaurant below the hotel. However, the range of food is far too limited (bread, croissant, yoghurt, jam) - and every single day, it all ran out and we had to ask for more bread to be put out, or more coffee, or more croissants. And, the tables were never cleared or cleaned. It got tedious. And the staff just rushed the guests as fast as possible to get them out ... so they could get on with setting up for the lunch time crowd.

If the hotel can just get this bit right ... it would save on so many of the comments that other travellers have made about this part of their stay.

Other than that - great location - and you can always go out for breakfast!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel have windows. Those at the back look onto a parking lot and / or have billboards blocking any view.

Dear London69

We thank you for your time taken to write us a review of your recent stay. We are glad that you did enjoy the convenience of our location and found all your desired restaurants and pubs nearby. We have taken all your comments about our breakfast into consideration. We highly apologize about your experience with our restaurant’s breakfast.

We are currently undergoing several changes to our French style breakfast.
Our restaurant Le Pois Penche does offer a full brunch menu only on the weekends, so next time you are around, feel free to ask any of our team members for some direction. We hope this finds you well and wish to see you again soon.

Best Regards.
