We stayed in an apartment upstairs and it was lovely to run down to beautifully prepared cafe latte and croissants breakfast sandwiches. Lovely staff and beautiful old building.

On our way to the nearby Musee d'Archeologie d'Historie in Old Montreal, we came across this tiny café and decided to try it for lunch. It turned out to be an excellent choice, with generous sandwiches, soups, and salads. The service was fast and friendly.

The café also offers a nice variety of desserts.

We had a croissant sandwich for lunch it was ok. Coffee was very good though. Service needs to improve. They offer complementary wi-fi.

I have been several times to this little place in old Montreal. The owner makes ice cream in the back room (one can see him in action and discuss with him - he is always keen on explaining how he makes it). For sure, prices are very high (from 4 to 8 dollars for a scoop), but once you have tasted any of the flavours, you will understand why. He imports pistachios from Sicily and there is a high concentration of those - as you have probably never tried before. The strawberry is surprising at first sight - it is almost white - since there is no artificial colour and since it is made from strawberries close to wild strawberries (how delicate!) As of the service, it is always courteous. There are also quality sandwiches, home-made conserves, etc...

Muki does indeed have excellent ice cream. However, people are really interested in feeling good after their ice cream and in not feeling ripped off. The prices could be a bit lower so that the experience is excellent!
