Traveled with my wife July 2015. The hotel is central, lots of great art, close to everything in the old city. Parking is valet only. Hotel is an updated modernized building that retains its old charm with the comforts we have come to expect. Will appeal to younger and older guest alike.

loved the art throughout the hotel. huge impact on the senses. the hotel has a small, intimate bar that is just delightful. and the room is large, by any standards. i don't know when i've seen such high ceilings before except in a museum.
comfy beds, great bedding, and overall excellent choice.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Killer decor for art lovers with a great lobby for reading and relaxing. Spacious room, comfortable beds, and a Keurig coffeemaker gets extra points. Loved the continental-plus breakfast, with its St. Viateur bagels plus meats and great cheeses to go along with the usuals. And with a location just a block away from the underground and its Metro connection, getting around was a breeze. We'll be back!

I was a little disapointed. Perhaps I expected to much after reading the good reviews. It is a very nice hotel, the idea of staying at a "museum" of art work is very interesting and it was nice. The room, a king suite on the second floor was extremely large and comfortable....the room was the best part of the stay. The checkin left something to be desired....we were excited to get there after all the reviews, and the expense, but when we checked in it was very cold. They were nice enough but it was just a " hello, give us a credit card and sign here" type of thing....here's your room key and that's it....no welcome feel at all! I would have thought they would have talked a bit about the hotel and what it had to offer, maybe ask if we had ever been there're before, but nope, nothing. I have had a much warmer welcome from a Marriot than at this hotel. They really didn't seem to care if we were there or not. And this was really the overall feeling all weekend. So the room size was great! Service, not really, we also booked the room for three people and upon arriving it was only set up for two...even had to call for one extra set of towels because there was only two of everything, 2 robes, glasses an d towels instead of three. These are little things but important when you have paid such an expense and are on a holiday. The last thing, the Wine Bar, very nice set up, intimate but the music playing just was much to loud for the type of atmosphere they were trying to portray. Ohhh and the room had a neat steam, sauna, shower set up but you would really benefit if there was a manual for the system!!! ( was a little frustrating) , so overall great size room, but lacked a welcoming friendly feel and service just wasn't up to expectations, because of this would not stay again.

Room tip: Stayed on 2nd floor and was awoken by a lot of street noise, perhaps higher floors better

I was hesitant about this hotel because of a couple of iffy reviews. Can't say enough good things. One of the largest rooms I've ever had, wonderful staff, great location, loved the eclectic lobby and cozy bar area. Great breakfast...I could go on and on! Just adored everything about it!
