The Pomerol is the kind of hotel that would disrupt the AirBnB industry: fair prices, excellent location and top notch services.

The rooms are all very basic - it's absolutely NOT a five star hotel - but offer everything you need when exploring the city. They have breakfast and offer snacks - coffee, tea and cookies - through the day. It's VERY clean (which I find extremely important) and despite being rather inexpensive, staff treats you with the respect and attention you'd see at a fancier hotel.

The location is great, so many things to do and see at walking distance and also easy to get in case you got there by train. I can't recommend this place enough.

The cons? You have to book early!

Enjoyed my stay here immensely. Space is sparkling clean & rooms have great character. The front desk staff is warm & friendly. I received several suggestions from them for dining & things to do and they were always on target. Would go back there with no hesitation.

Recently stay at the Auberge Le Pomerol back in July 2017 during the Just for Laughs festival.

We stayed here because it was very close to the comdey venue and the price was good for that time of year, especially during JFL.

The hotel staff were very nice, accommodating and helpful with metro. The room itself was very small and the bathroom was tricky to navigate. Bed was ok, A/C was(but it aleast worked), noise from the street could be bothersome to guests.

The breakfast that they provide was very good and they leave it just outside your room, so you don't need to go anywhere.

When back in Montreal I will stay somewhere else, however the hotel is good for a 1-nighter or if your activities are in the surrounding area.

Dear Jeff C,
We are really grateful for your comments on your recent stay at Auberge Le Pomerol. We are glad to read that you enjoyed our central location, only 12 min walking distance from Place-des-Arts district for the Just For Laugh festival, the value of money, our friendly staff and the tasty breakfast basket. We feel really disapointed that you did not enjoy your room. There are 4 categories of rooms: economic, regular, superior and executive. All of them can accomodate at least 2 guests. Since the main diffferences are both size and amenities, each of them offer the same comfort and coziness. Thus, we strongly advise our potential guests to make sure they choose the right room according their needs and our availabilities. For instance, rooms at the back plus the 3 rooms with no windows from our new section are the hotel's most quiet. You can find all those information and more on our website.
Thank you again for your feedback, we hope you give us a second chance to welcome you back in the near futrure.

Sincerely,

This hotel is in a very good location as it was close to a Metro line, restaurants, and shopping. The room was clean and the staff were pleasant. The only downside is the configuration of the room. There was a huge soaker tub and a sink in the room proper and the bathroom (where the toilet and shower were) was tiny. The toilet faced the door and there was next to no maneuvering room. My husband is 6'5" and found it very cramped.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without the soaker tub if you want a larger, more convenient bathroom.

This auberge is situated in a very convenient location. It is a 5 minute walk to Rue St. Dennis where there is a great selection of restaurants. Just ask the concierge, he will give you selection of several excellent ones. It is also only a 20 minute walk to Old Montreal. Each time we have stayed here we find that this place is clean, quiet, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is brought to your room door in a basket each morning. You can either eat in your room or in the dining area. There is a small lounge with couches and computer access. We will return.
