A laid back yet well made breakfast scene, might want to get in line earlier to avoid the wait, but overall it was an enjoyable experience. Foods are tasty, fresh and priced reasonably (around $15) for a very good breakfast portion including fruits, salad and sides.

You know how sometimes a place has amazing reviews and then you go there and don't understand what all the fuss is about? This is that time for me. I do not understand how this extremely loud and unpleasant place with mediocre food gets such high reviews. Regrettably, we went to this place because of amazing reviews on Tripadvisor for a Sunday brunch. Stood in line for about an hour, and it was completely, totally and utterly NOT worth it. This place is so loud that I I got a migraine. The tables are so close together (less than 40cm/10inches) that you can hear what everybody else is saying and they can hear you and some people will even participate in your conversation. Forget about having a private conversation. It made me feel agoraphobic and claustrophobic! I couldn't wait to get out. Cafe Regine, if you're that busy, lease a bigger space! Don't cram tables one on top of each other! Given how busy they are, it's not at all surprising that my drink got forgotten and the tables weren't cleared on time at all. And the food was absolutely run of the mill. After the pictures on here and reviews I expected something good, but no, it was worse than average. The carrot/sweet pepper sauce with my poached eggs Champi did not go well with the dish at all, when mixed together it tasted like vomit. I tried to eat around it, when I really should've sent the dish back. I let the waitress, Marion, know about it, and she said she will send my comments to the chef... I don't think they care about each and every experience people have at their restaurant. It felt like more like a conveyor belt type service. Get them in, get them out, let new people in. Also, they were giving the samples of chocolate waffles on the street in the line-up, but you can't order one in the restaurant, which was a let down as well. Why give out samples of food you can't order? Doesn't make sense. Also, on their website, they say that they have high chairs, but I cannot even imagine bringing a child to this place. If it was too overwhelming and unpleasant for an adult, I would never bring a child to a place like that. Needless to say, I will not be back. With all the places to eat in Montreal, skip this one!

The cafe bonbon is a must. The 1st I tasted it was in Cuba and sunce then I'm in love. The omelet was average.

When it comes to brunch - I LOVE Cafe Regine. Be prepared to wait a minimum hour-long line up on the weekends, however with a good group of friends the time really does fly. Plus, the cafe is accommodating to the customers lined up offering pieces of cake and sweet tea. My favorite dish at Regine is the Sucree Sale, I'm a sucker for sweet and salty breakfast. The fluffy french toast is always great with pulled pork, a sunny side up egg and salted caramel sauce. Can't wait to go back!
