We have been going to Gibby's for over 20 years. We have tried lots of restaurants in Montreal and Gibby's is still our family's favorite. Food is always consistent and delicious. All meals come with a delicious salad or one of a few different choices. The bread is served warm and I could easily eat a loaf by myself it's so good. Their jalapeño sausage with mango chutney is spicy and very tasty. The Monte Carlo potato is a must... Their version of a twice baked. Prices are average for this type of restaurant but all sides and salads are inclusive so it's actually quite reasonable. They serve a palate cleanser of lemon sorbet... Love love love this stuff. And to finish it all off their desserts are to die for. The Gibby's delight, chocolate mousse and cream brûlée are all worth throwing the diet out the window for. If I have a complaint it would be their service if you have a large party. If you are an average size party, service is impeccable but when you start hitting more than 10 people service starts suffering. Servers seem to start getting antsy and impatient when they are dealing with a larger party. Regardless..... Gibby's is a must if you are visiting Montreal. We live an hour and half away but will make the drive at the drop of a hat to go enjoy a night at Gibby's. .... Oh... I can't forget to mention the ambiance.... 300 year old former stables..stone walls, low beamed ceilings, fire burning in the cozy fire place.... It's truly a delightful experience.
