Dinner here was delightful. I had the lobster and my husband had the venison, both wonderful. The mushroom ravioli appetizer was delicious! Service was attentive and friendly with great suggestions for what to order and wine pairings.

Perfect dining experience. Great ambiance, ideal temperature and exquisite French food served by attentive and friendly staff. Don’t miss this gem when in Montreal.

We had the three course dinner, which for $42 CAD was really a deal.House dressing on salad was delicious. Chicken and pork main course were excellent. Caramel flan and key lime pie were wonderful! Service was exceptional. We were guests so breakfast was included, which gave you lots of hearty and light choices.
Seemed like lots of locals were there for dinner so it must also be a local favorite. Table cloths and crumb scraper!

We had a special evening enjoying the five courses of the tasting menu: lobster bisque and parmigiana salad, followed by smoked salmon and foie gras, then mushroom ravioli and snails Provençal, a sorbet, then rack of lamb and diver sole meunière (with gorgeous frites), topped with tea and coffee and a trio of desserts. With beautiful French wine we savoured (and shared) these dishes over three hours. €335 for two - a wonderfully special evening with fantastic service and attention to detail.

We lucked into our meal at the Bonaparte thanks to our travel agent. Of the nine great meals we ate in Montreal and the seven terrific ones we ate in Quebec City, the one at Bonaparte stood out as the best. We enjoyed the wines, the carrot/squash soup, the pepper steak, and a fantastic soufflé. The staff were kind, professional and attentive.

We sat in the back room, which was a bit more quiet than the front area along the street. Don’t let the construction on the street stop you from navigating your way to the restaurant. Enjoy!
