We celebrated my husban's birthday...just the two of us at one of our favourite restaurants anywhere!
From the moment we were seated until the moment we left, the professionalism of the staff was marvellous!
This is a classic French country restauarnt in Old Montreal. The food is superb, the ambience quiet and romantic and the service is wonderful. The staff know their wines and menu in an absolutely natural, matter-of-fact way...no showy explanations! The concentration is on the food...so enjoy!

The setting is very old mens club. There is no sigh outside so you have to know where you are going. The inside is dark wood and eclectic. The waiter was French, very French, and a hoot. Totally personable. Knew the menu and was glad to make recommendations. My wifes pasta with marinated fois gras was the hit of the evening. Totally rich! The fish was perfectly cooked as was the wild boar chop. The wine pairings were perfect and the glasses were kept full. When my wife went to the ladies room the waiter brought out an aged calvados and we did free shots until she returned. Will forever be my goto place in Montreal.

We had three great meals in a row during a recent stay in Montreal and this was the third.Despite a foul up in the reservation (mostly my fault, be sure to reconfirm) the maître d' found us a good table in a corner of the dining room from which we could follow the activity. Our meal was excellent, beginning with wonderful oysters from Nova Scotia - briny and fresh, continuing with boar and pheasant as main courses and a maple syrup parfait for dessert. All great. The wine list is extensive and fairly priced. Service was professional and attentive. It is on our list for a meal on our next stay in Montreal.

I've gone back here twice now while visiting Montreal. The food and service have been excellent. It's a pretty little place, with a nice cozy atmosphere. Romantic but not stuffy. Great for an special anniversary or birthday dinner.

This was my first time here but it will not be the last.
All food was prepared to perfection and they even managed well with my food allergies.
There was no simple green salad on the the menu but I had no problem ordering one and they were also very accommodating about making a special cheese plate for us.
The lamb was excellent, fresh, not frozen. It makes a difference.
Parts of the restaurant are also a little noisy.
This restaurant is also not inexpensive.
