We stayed here for 3 nights and had a really nice stay. The location can’t be beaten, and we really liked the quirky decor. Staff were all friendly, but we didn’t have any need to make any requests or anything.
A full small things that stopped me giving 5 stars:
- we had a suite with a pull out bed for our son. The bed was placed directly in front of a large pillar so we had to side-step/squeeze past it each time. This made little sense as there was loads of room in the rest of the room (see photo). There was also no usable bedside table for this bed (there was one nearby but out of reach).
- the toilet paper! So cheap and unpleasant. We had to go and buy our own, which is the first time we have ever done that in all of our travels.
- the lovely rain shower is placed directly where there is NO shower screen, so the bathroom just gets really wet.
- the cafe was not open on Sunday morning when we went down as the employee had not arrived yet, although it was meant to be open. Not ideal not being able to get coffee/food when wanted. Our room hadn’t been serviced the day before so we had no options in our room.
- no bar! It’s a real omission in such a lovely hotel. There are great options right across the road, but being with our son, this wasn’t an option in the evening for us.
Would definitely stay again, but would ask for a different room layout.
