Our visit began with a small problem: we had been "upgraded" to a suite... but unfortunately one which did not have a bed for our children. Both the hotel and I were at fault--me for not making sure that my children were recorded on my reservation, and the hotel for not honoring our "two queen beds" reservation.
And it was high season.
But the difference between a bad hotel and a good one is that the people behind the desk cared very much to sort it out. After triple checking that they could not put us in the room we'd requested, they offered us the suite upgrade with two roll-away beds (no charge of course) for the kids, for the first night. "Then, you can change to the other room tomorrow, or stay, your choice."
I should not have worried. The suite was roomy enough for the cots, which the children declared excellent, and we did not relocate. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. (Bring your own conditioner--even though there is a spa in the hotel, the products in the bathroom are not spa quality.)
Comfortable bed... clean room... AWESOME location just off St. Jean. I would surely stay here again.More
