“Great Choice for Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2012

Found this hotel by accident from Orbitz, great accident. Hotel was charming.
In Old Quebec City, easy to get to, no navigation headache.
No place to park so have to Valet (no big deal for me).
Hotel check in pleasant, no hassles, very helpful. Spoke English well even though I speak French well.
Rooms were nice, just enough room (2 adults, 2 kids). Stone wall and fireplace were really cool. Bathroom is cozy (read: small).
Had free wifi in rooms, which was nice.
Walking distance to anywhere in Old Quebec.
If you get breakfast included, it was at the Restaurant Le Feu Sacre, which is around the corner. Buffet style breakfast.
NOTE: you can catch the Ecolobus ("E" bus) down the road on Ste. Ursule which can take you around Old Quebec and down to the lower level. Costs only 1 buck per person.
Visited the Old Quebec Citadelle, the ramparts, the historic buildings, etc. Had a nice walking tour.
Definitely less English speakers than in Montreal, which is to be expected.
Visited the Musee de la Civilisation in Old Quebec lower level. Spent the day there. Saw the cool Samurai exhibit, history of French Canada, and the interactive kids exhibits in the lower level (weather and science exhibits). Spent about 5 hours there.
Hotel Acadia is a good choice for us, and we would go back again, this time without a car to park.

Room Tip: No swimming pool or on site restaurant. Had a fridge and microwave in room though.

We booked a deal through their website for one of their rooms with a double bed. It was way too small for two people, so if you decide to stay there, their rooms with double beds are only suitable for one person. Very old, outdated hotel. Not the cleanest (ie: wouldn't want to walk around barefoot on the hard woods as you will pick up a little something here or there). Ended up keeping our shoes on while in the room, which is never a very relaxing thing to do. Definitely false advertising as the pictures on their website look nothing like the reality of the place. Staff was decently nice. Valet is $18 per day. Breakfast was just okay and situated in their sister hotel's restaurant around the corner. The bathroom was a joke. Two people can't stand in there at the same time. It's that small.

What I did like?

Pretty good location. Not the cutest of streets but for sure walking distance to mostly everything.

Would I stay again?

No. Lots of cute places especially in lower town.

I booked the hotel as it was close to my conference venue. Realised later that it is also within walking distances to most attractions in Quebec City and in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. It is one of four hotels under the same management. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lounge and patio at mid-level, roof-top jacuzzi and spa centre, but no dining area within the hotel, so breakfast is served at an affiliated restaurant just around the corner. Although breakfast is the same everyday, the food is well prepared, and waiters and waitresses are attentive. All service personnel here are young and speak good English too. As the hotel is an ancient townhouse, there is no elevator to access the five floors. The room is well heated and bathroom is spacious. On the whole, I think it is worth the price.

Stoped in Acadia for weekend with my wife. Overall hotel is very good, very clean for it's age. Friendly stuff and Perfect location, close to all what you need to see in Quebec, and in same time not noicy at all.
There was only one issue there, parking!!! Its close to hotel but it's to stuffy, cars are parked 10cm from each other, so 4/5 times I parked by myself to leave enough space for open doors!
But overal hotel is ok, just make sure that your car is in safe parking spot, 4/5 times I parket my car by myself(not valet) so i made enough space for doors:)

Dear guest,
We're pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. We are fortunate to have parking spaces on the site of the hotel, as much hotels park their guest’s cars in a city parking up to a 10 minutes walk. Thank you for your comment and we would be happy to welcome you again on your next visit.

Any room is pleasant, clean and cosy. The rooms with the brick wall are nice but necessary.
The breakfast for 10 dollars at Le Feu Sacre are worth it.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted promptly by a friendly front desk. We stayed in a room a the fifth floor of the hotel. This meant that our ceiling was slanted and in turn our tv was a tiny 12 inches. We paid for a deluxe room with brick wall, the brick wall was very nice but on closer review our hot tub we paid extra for wasn't working. The real trouble though began once we realized the heat was not working. The staff promptly brought a plug in heater which did the job but in the middle of winter the hotel should make sure their heating system is working... The bathroom is tiny as well. The location of the hotel is great, a nice short walk to pretty much anything you would want to see. The buffet is located in a restaurant which is a 5 minute outdoor walk. Not a big deal for us but could be an issue for others. All in all, for the amount of money spent not the best deal considering all the issues our room had and I would probably research other hotel in the area next time.
