My husband and I are sitting outside in the back garden (on the deck) of B&B À l'Augustine in Quebec City, Canada and loving it. We bought some great cheese, pate, and crackers at a European style shop on Ste. Jean Street a couple of blocks away and are relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. The breakfast this morning was delicious and satisfying. The owner, Caroline, is delightful and makes us feel welcome. We are staying in the suite and it is very nice. It has a fridge, microwave, wifi, and tv and is very roomy and clean. We would definitely stay here again. Location is excellent. The photos on line are very accurate.

Room Tip: I would pay extra for the suite.

We chose the suite with private bathroom on the main floor. While it looked pretty in the photos, the finishing was very poorly executed (think plywood TV stand in the middle of a turn of the century stone wall or a tiled shower in terracotta that was glued to a 2x4 board frame). The room was attached to main house but with a back access entrance through the kitchen. We went to access the B&B to exit and found we had been locked out! Needless to say, the entire set-up seemed a little random.

While the host was friendly, breakfast was lackluster: coffee served last (and we all want coffee first!), cereal placed on the table but no bowls or milk, toast and pancakes for breakfast (very carb-heavy) but no protein or special treats that are the reason people choose B&Bs.

Quebec City is teeming with B&Bs and there are better price to value ratios in the city unfortunately.

I absent when you be there and it's a friend who have take care of the B&B during my absence.... Normally she doing very well..
Concerning the the bathroom... It's true that in the end of the winter, the soil have wok and the house have move and have for consequence that some tiled of ceramic fall from this part (we can see the woods)..... When we are come back at the house, we have repair that...
Again we are sorry we hope that we can receive you with pleasure a next time in a better condition...

We spent a night here during our stay in Old Quebec City during the Winter Carnival in February. This location is the heart of Old Quebec City and is within walking distance of many restaurants and Parliament. It was within walking distance to the carnival as well which was fantastic. Excellent Location.

The Inn keepers were very hospitable and made us feel at home. We asked when the Winter Carnival Parade would be coming by and where to go, and they researched that on line for us and came back with implicate details.

The breakfast was amazing and an experience. It is served in different courses so allow 3/4 of an hour to an hour if there are a number of people there.

Parking is limited, so advise if you need to park, contact them in advance.

We would have liked to have had our own private bathroom, but we knew we would be sharing with another room before we booked.

For the location, the price was very reasonable.

Yes, we would recommend staying there.

Thank Khaoula and Youness' hospitable reception. You are really a gentle and kind couple. I had a good sleep in your B&B. The room is clean, spacious and warm. You can control the temperature by yourselves. The bed is cozy. Everything in this B&B is so nice. Plus, the breakfast is also delicious. I will never forget this wonderful trip in Quebec City. By the way, I love these 2 Chinese pictures in the bathroom.

The atmosphere of A l'Augustine is very nice. The food is spectacular and the staff is amazing. I had an early morning flight and left for the airport at 430am and they had breakfast waiting for me ... absolutely amazing.

I highly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a great location (right next to Old Quebec) and thoughtful and caring staff. The room was very comfortable, you can control your own temperature and thus feel comfortable every second you are in l'Augustine.

Really great stay!
