The house is gorgeous, and Caroline is wonderful. She'll make you delicious traditional Quebec breakfasts while always having a pot of fresh coffee, along with a wide variety of spreads for your pre-breakfast bagel.

Being in her house makes me want to buy one just like it. I especially loved the original flooring (that doesn't squeak, a rarity in a house like this!). She's just a short walk to the old city and is situated in a historic part of town itself. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend A l'Augustine.

We stayed for 2 nights at L'Augustine. The location couldn't be better for reaching all of our points of interest by foot. We went to the Plains of Abraham for Carnaval, the Observatory, Petite-Champlaine district, Hotel Frontenac, rode the Funicular, and had access to a plethora of restaurants, bars and shops.
Be comfortable eating and sharing common areas like the sitting area and bathroom in the B&B with others. We met many kind people, including our hostess, Caroline. It really added to our experience.
The beds were comfortable, towels were thick, and breakfast was delicious and kept us full until lunch. I would stay here again, without a doubt.

We truly felt like invited guests in this home. Our room was attractive and beds were comfortable. Two-course breakfasts presented us with an opportunity to visit with our hostess, Carolene, and learn about her family, the historic house, and unique parts of the old city that we could access by foot, bus or taxi.
We arrived during Quebec City's first big snowfall of the season, and Caroline directed us to a nearby shoe store to buy galoshes. She was very helpful, looking up information for us and giving us tourist tips.
Only regret was that we hadn't planned for a longer stay! I hope to return, and would like to stay here again.

Room Tip: "Second floor" is two floors above ground floor, so climbing the stairs with more than one suitcase is an aerobic exercise!

I enjoyed staying in Carolines house for three nights. A cosy bedroom under the roof was mine with a shared bathroom for two rooms which was no problem at all. Beautiful, old interior. The breakfast was excellent, she offered different french canadian specialties every morning, combined with tasty fruit joghurt. You can meet the other guests at the breakfast table, I had interesting conversations with them. The location is perfect if you like to explore a city by feet. In a few minutes you can reach parliament and the inner part of the upper town. Nearby are a lot of bars and restaurants.
You do not hear a lot of noise from outside but the walls seem to be pretty thin, no problem at this time with my room neighbours.
I can recommend this place for a stay in Quebec!

B&B a l'Augustine is arranged with great care, its decor enhancing the beauty of the 18th century home. The ample and comfortable bedrooms on each floor lead off a common area furnished with comfortable seating for guests to read and converse. Our host serves a bountiful, delicious breakfast, and a patio garden brimming with flowering plants is open to guests in fine weather.
