“Good Pub...Loud Venue”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

I like pub type food and Bushwakkers does it well. They have the best french fries in Regina in my opinion and a lot of the sandwiches are good. The exception is the Reuban sandwhich which is all wrong. Hey Bushwakkers!, the Reuban is a New York sandwich and is supposed to have a pile of pastrami and very thin Jewish type rye bread. You've got it backwards! Big fat dark bread like Texas toast and thin meat. The desserts are great too. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I can't say anything about that. The place is really loud and full of tables of young people making a lot of noise and yelling. Sometimes I don't mind the noise, other times I find it annoying. The service is generally attentive. It can be a horribly hot place in the summer; so be forewarned.

We agree that our Reuben contains more bread than some. This reflects the fact that we are in the middle of the Canadian grain belt and our local customers like their bread. I normally order the larger version of our Reuben and sometimes I use only the bottom slice of bread. That restores the meat/bread ration that the reviewer may prefer, as do I. I had tried my first Reuben in Stuttgart, Germany 32 years ago and I'm quite familiar with the New York version, particularly at the Stage Door Deli. But why do Americans put Thousand Island salad dressing on their Reubens?
I'm surprised at the "young people" comment. Except for late in the evening the average age of our clientele is probably the oldest of any comparable venue in town.

“Great Food and Better Beer”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

If you are in Regina for a visit and want a unique experience with solid food and fantastic beer head to the Bushwakker. Old warehouse charm and beer made from scratch---barley ground on site, fresh grains, and a real brewmaster. Go online for specials of the day which are always good or have fresh made burger and fries. Home made pizza's too. Perhaps one of the best pubs in Canada. If you like Scotch the manager Grant can offer some the world's finest. Definitely worth a try.

“A decent brewpub”
Reviewed 26 March 2012

Although I've preferred the beer at some other brewpubs, this place was definitely worth visiting and the best brew pub in Western Canada. Large brewpub in an old warehouse...pretty cool. The food was quality and the service was okay. The beer itself is British style, so don't expect crazy American-style micros here (ie. no Imperial Stouts and IPAs). Enjoyable and a must visit in Regina.
