The Broadway Café in Saskatoon is a veritable eating institution, It has been serving up meals for well over three decades and it still remains one of the city's most popular eating spots. Walking into the restaurant is like a trip back in time to the 1950s with the walls festooned with photos and posters featuring Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and other stars of the time. There is still a lunch counter with round stools, red formica table tops, furnishings from the past -- a trip down Memory Lane. But the restaurant's popularity still rests on its hearty food, generous portions and affordability.
