“The Most Luxurious Hotel You'll Find in Saskatoon!!”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

Going to visit friends this trip and wanted a nice place in Saskatoon to stay with the hubby. Being Saskatoon - the choices are limited. We had stayed at the Sheraton before and it was small, loud but the location was great. Via Tripadvisor, many people raved about the James Hotel - and their feedback were right on!!

Note that the hotel is on the right side of the Sheraton Hotel on Spadina (where the balconies are) - as we got a little confused.

The service was spectacular!! We got greeted by a sweet lady named Kecia who sincerely was happy to see us! We stayed in the King Suite - and I definitely recommend this suite!

It faces the river, you get a balcony - AND you have a huge comfy king bed and a lounging area with a super comfy couch. It was boutique galore! On the bed was a welcome card and a cute little luggage tag gift!

We even got to check in quite early, at almost 1pm. By 6pm, we got chocolate strawberries delivered to our door - and they were divine. Not sure why we got them - but I was not complaining!!

We also ordered some room service (the room was so cozy that we didn't want to leave!) - and the food was not too bad. Wasn't the best - but it arrived within 20 minutes. We had Prime Rib Dip & Fries (YUMMM) and French Onion Soup which wasn't as yum. Totalled $37 so a little on the high side - which is expected!

The next morning - hubby went to get the free breakfast! We were expecting Holiday Inn - however there was a chef making fresh yummy waffles - and there was bacon, sausage, fresh hashbrowns (not the frozen ones) and freshly squeezed OJ!! Pretty impressive.

So when you look at the price we paid at $250 - it was wayyy worth it! You can't beat the location, the comfort (the beds and pillow were soooo comfortable), the gorgeous rooms and the high quality soaps (occitane) etc - topped with top notch service! Can't go wrong - especially if you want to treat yourself to a relaxing time away!

Also I noticed someone complained about the bathroom - but I did not find it small at all! It had a great soaker tub, a sink with plenty of counter space and yet again, gorgeously decorated!

It felt like home (a real nice home) with royalty treatment! Can't beat that!

Room Tip: King Suite Riverview!

Wonderful quiet, understated hotel. Rooms are small, but very nicely put together. Ok to work in.
The best part is a freshly chef prepared breakfast included in your room price.
I liked it and look forward to staying there again. (Would be nice if you received Sheraton points for the stay).

Room Tip: I didn't have a view of the river and I still liked it!

It's not often I can say a property exceeds expectations - but The James does. The facility is beautiful and very comfortable - from the linens to the artwork every detail has been looked after. Thoughtful touches like the next morning's breakfast menu left on your night table add to the feeling of being looked after. The included breakfast is incredible, and dutifully attended by the concierge and a chef station. It is the perfect business hotel for downtown Saskatoon.

The staff seem to still be "finding their feet", especially the front desk staff, as it is a new hotel. But I have no doubt that in time all will be ironed out. It is a friendly and quiet place to stay.

Some rooms are "suites" and others smaller, bachelor-type offerings. Both are nice, but the suite allows more space.

the James hotel ...truly the only Luxery Hotel in Saskatoon. The view from our room overlooking the the river and downtown was fantastic. The room was spacious, inviting, and the decor was very warm, relaxing.....not a single detail has been overlooked --- from having a throw cover on the couch...to having a set of wine glasses available. The Sheets on the bed were the best i have ever had in a hotel..........600 thread count. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows...oh my! You need to experience a Hotel stay like this at least once in a lifetime. The hot breakfast included was great.....the music in the Odessa room was so relaxing. Would rdefinitely recommend this hotel !

If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle in Saskatoon then look no further - The James is a must.

My husband and I were looking for a special night away and we found it 10 minutes from our house. The moment we arrived at the James every detail was taken care of by the attentive staff, making you feel relaxed, comfortable and totally at ease. The decor in the lobby was very modern but not too stuffy and our room felt like we were living in a magazine. Our 1 bedroom suite had a sectional couch, flat screen tv and a desk, all looking out over the beautiful Saskatchewan river and Meewasin Trail. Within minutes of sitting on the couch we felt totally relaxed and new we had made an excellent choice. Our bedroom had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on and the sheets, pillows were amazing.
Anything you could of asked for was available, robes, gourmet coffee and tea an amazing breakfast with eggs benedict made when we arrved, free parking and it was all included in the price.
Everything was super clean, quiet and private. We loved the earlier check in at 3:00 pm and checkout wasn't until 12:00 pm the next day.
We can't wait for our next night at the James!

Room Tip: Try and get a riverview - they are amazing!

We usually do not stay in hotels in Saskatoon as we know lots of people there but this time it worked best to rent a room for a night. Because it was short notice there was not much availability and found a room available the new James Hotel overlooking the river and downtown. Im so glad we did! Now I know where we will always stay if we ever have to spend a night in Saskatoon via hotel again! This was not just the best hotel in Saskatchewan this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in AND I have stayed in many many very nice hotels all over the US (Houston, Katy Mills, Orlando etc... and other hot holidays) This hotel is very new so not many know of it. It is attached to the Sheraton on Spadina. I cannot say enough. To name a few things, the bed is to die for! seriously had the best sleep I have ever had. The moment they sell their linens and pillows I will be the first to buy! Their rooms are immaculate with great views. The river view is so pretty at night, especially in the winter! rand new bathrooms with awesome bathtubs and shower. Very Very Clean! Water available in room, free hot breakfast in the morning (this is a full breaky, omelets, waffles, fruit, bacon, pototoes, etc...) free parking, free valet service, free extension cords, great customer service, very polite! There is not many hotels that will even come close to this one. Our room rate was $220 night, and is slightly cheaper for a room that doesnt overlook the river. The classic rooms all have king beds and again was the most comfy bed I have ever lied on! And I have a great Kingsdown to sleep on every night. I recommend this hotel to anyone, couples, singles, families.

Room Tip: Rooms im sure are all good. We chose a room that overlooks the river. At night is was gorgeous with...
