“The Meerkats”

Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo

The zoo may be small but easy walk around ... or there’s a small train that you can catch to drive around and the conductor will explain the different animals! The newest exhibit is the Meerkats and they are so fun to watch!!

The Saskatoon Zoo is a great place to spend a morning or afternoon. I wouldn't schedule an entire day, but certainly 3 of 4 hours can easily be spent wandering through the zoo and the various exhibits. There are some pretty cool animals to be found at this little zoo... including lemurs... yup... the jumping kind. There are many park-like spaces so bring a picnic lunch to enjoy as part of your visit. Kid friendly and wheelchair friendly, this little zoo is great. If you get there before the heat of the day you'll see more activity. The groundhog/gopher exhibit is worth the price of admission... especially if you're a city kid.

Wow what a nice park, BBQ by the trout pond, that they stock, $2.00 to fish, and you can keep the trout (2) I think, but wow, it feels like you are miles from the city!!!

I found that the rate to enter was fairly expensive for what there was to see. I get that taking care of animals is expensive. It cost 25$ for us. There are various times of the year when the just will take a donation. I think they should charge all users at all times but perhaps lower the rate in the summer.

Other than that I found the animals were well taken care of and we enjoyed the meerkats.

we enjoyed the zoo. There was a bit of construction because they are renovating. but it was still great. We saw foxes and owls, bears. Lots of mountain sheep. All the animals seemed happy. We missed the gift shop unfortunately it was closed. We for sure would have bought something. A most stop when you are in town.
