It is a very pleasant place to have here , near Whitehorse, but the maintenance is really poor. The paint come of in the pool everywhere on the sides, it always smell pee in the male change room, the toilet hasn't been working properly since I moved here (5 years ago). The water in the pool is not very clean ( lots of bugs sometimes, but that's ok. Some screw sticking out on wood structures outside the bassin. Staff is ok.
Other than that, it's nice to be in the hot water when it's cold outside,

These hot springs are about 30 minutes outside the city and are a great place to go to wind up your day. We went after dark a spent a couple hours swimming and soaking. These are naturally occuring hot springs that are piped into 2 different man-made pools.

Great place to stay not too far from Whitehorse (~20 min). Stayed for a week while kids were at a day camp in Whitehorse. Great hot springs - basic facilities. We brought bikes and rode through the wildlife park nearby. Had dinner at the restaurant (all crepes) service and food were great.

The hot springs was nice to visit on a cold day in November. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t really that busy. The water isn’t exactly ‘hot’ but it is warm and comfortable enough to soak for an hour. Towels and sandals are available to rent which is quite nice! Locks are available with a deposit which is then returned when you give back the locks!

We enjoyed our first visit so much, we returned the next evening and watched the full moon rise. It is an easy drive from Whitehorse and the facilities are fine. The proposed renovations will be great. Bring your suit and flip flops, towels for a fee and lockers with locks available.

Sitting under the stars, baking in the hot pool, sipping ice cold water from our thermos, cuddling and conversation.Easy drive and about half way out as you cross the bridge, you can view the merging of the Takhini and Yukon rivers. Looking forward to the renovation providing larger change rooms!

A great way to finish the Wildlife tour, with a choice of pool temperatures it was such an enjoyable experience.

Note that flip flops are available for the change room as well as lockers to keep your stuff safe. A good place to use your waterproof case for your phone camera.
Water areas are very warm and hot, so good for all seasons.
A new facility may make next season more desirable than ever.
1 to 2 hours is plenty for this.

We took the Northern Tales Yukon Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Pools tours. The tour picked us up at the Best Western. The Takhini Hot Pools have swimsuits ($3), towels ($3), and sandals ($1) and a lock for a refundable deposit for rent; but they were also included in the price of our tour.

It turned out that there were not enough lockers available when we visited so my frinds and I had to share lockers. The lockers are about 6 feet tall so there was room for stacking.

The Takhini Hot Pools were just beginning to undergo renovation when we visited. They are tearing down the existing place and putting up a new one. There are two pools. As you walk out of the men’s or women’s locker room, the pool on your right is hotter and shallower. The pool on your left is cooler and very deep as you enter the pool but is very shallow the further to the left in the pool you go (this was only because the path from the locker room to the very shallow end is currently closed). The water has a natural rusty color to it from the minerals and is full of bugs. They regularly clean the bugs from the pool but they are attracted to the warm water so there's no way to always keep the pools free of them. There is not much of a view from the pools and there is not much seating around the edges in the cooler pool.

You take off your shoes and socks before entering the locker room and leave them in the shoe racks near teh front desk. There are separate locker rooms for men and women. You are asked to shower before going out to the pools. The shower has a rope that you pull for the water to come out. There is a liquid soap dispenser but no shampoo. After you are done with the pools, you’ll want to shower again or else the Sulphur in the water will cause your skin to itch later. Place any rented items back to the lobby and place in the basket.
