Myself, my wife and two daughters aged 12 and 9 spent two glorious weeks at the Villa.

We hired a car at Bologna Airport and arrived at the villa about 25 minutes later. Entry is via a controlled gate and we were met by the owners Vittorio and Rosa Marie. They gave us a tour of the villa which is a large rustic building shared between them and the renters.

On entering you have a large hallway and kitchen off it.

The kitchen has a table with 4 seats and fridge, dishwasher etc. The owners provided which is the best "welcome Pack" I have ever had including home made tart, eggs, wine, beer and so much more.

Off the kitchen is a pantry and bathroom(with Shower) with a washing machine.

Walking through the hall is the main living area with a large dining table with 8 seats. 5 large setees and tables are also in the living area with a TV which has basic Italian TV

Upstairs there are 3 Bedrooms which comprise of 3 double beds, one of which has an additional single. If you only require one or two bedrooms the owners lock the doors of the ones you don't use. Also upstairs is the main bathroom with a shower and a bath..
Outside via the back doors is a patio area with seating for 8 and a BBQ. A short walk and you are at the pool. The pool is about 15 metres long and is 1m to 2m in depth. Sun loungers etc are provided. The pool is for the sole use of the guests

The owners provide almost everything including dishwasher tablets, washing powder, toilet rolls, shampoos and soaps, coffee and so much more.

Location wise it is only 10 minutes to downtown Casalecchio De Reno where you can park at the train station and go to Bologna Central which takes 15 minutes (2 trains an hour) Therafter you can visit Bologna or take the high speed trains(recommended) to Venice or Florence.

Nearby are excellent restaurants and a McDonalds if you are at a loss. A large supermarket is off the main roundabout near the motorway again only 15 mins from the villa.

Vittorio, the owner is usually available if you need any advice. On arrival he took us for a drive and showed us downtown, the station and a few restaurants.

The Ducati factory for those that like motorbikes is only 15 minutes away and a great tour that needs booked beforehand.

The only negatives which are outwith the owners control are firstly the heat.it was mid 30s when we were there and very hot at night in the master bedroom and secondly the mosquitos. You will get bitten but with lotions and potions you will get used to it.

We had a brilliant holiday due to a fantastic villa and its owners. Bellisimo
