Description: More than three decades of experience make Chef Proprietor Danilo Lorusso an authority in terms of traditional Piedmontese kitchen. La Crota's purpose is to give his guests the warmth of italian hospitality, the genuiness of Langhe's food and people, and to show the elegance of our excellences (Wine, hazelnuts, truffles and more...), without forgetting to add a personal touch with our professionalism and care of customer service.

With a chef-owner who has spent his last 40 years in the kitchen, it can only be great!

They also have 5 rooms to rent, so we booked a last minute short stay with them. We spent a wonderfoul evening at the restaurant, tasting some really delicious local specialities.

Since the area, and the village of Roddi are both famous about their truffle-hunting traditions, most of the dishes also included the all so delicious white-truffle, but the whole dinner was just so well balanced and tasty.

Instead of choosing from the menu, we just asked the chef to surprise us with his favorites, and I should say it was the right choise! A 3 course dinner + pudding, pared with great local wine.

All the pasta is home-made! And all the ingredients are fresh and top quality.

They even have a spacious wine-cellar to host private events!

If you ever plan to visit Alba area, I strongly recommend this place to stay and to have dinner as well. It is less touristy and crowded than La Morra or Barolo, and the wiew from the forth is amazing.

We had a wonderful dinner, starter, first and main course together with a wine of the region. Dessert was really tasty.

The guy who served us was very helpful and kind.
Afterwords we stayed in the room upstair, with an excellent view and enjoyed the whole stay.
Next morning breakfast was excellent like all the rest.
Really recommended.

Outside of Bra this fantastic hidden gem has beautiful outdoor seating for a romantic meal. The head waiter is great with wine pairing and his English is very good. Special menu can feature entirely a vegan funghi 5 courses all the way to suit an allergy intolerant person. Great service and reasonably priced. Worth going to. Wnjoy

La Crota is a traditional restaurant offering piemontese cuisine at a very reasonable price. The problem is that everything is "almost OK"... Too much grease in pasta sauce, too much salt in the wine-cooked meat, dessert without savor...

Stopped for a quick lunch - malfatti with mushroom and cotechino with mushroom were very good. Wine by the glass, not too expensive and quite good. Good cheese plate. Coffee comes with complementary "brutti ma buoni" meringues, yummy. Ate in the veranda, with nice sunshine peeking in. Courteous service. Nice town if you like a walk after lunch (loved the piazza between the castle and the church)
