Lesson 1: turn off your satnav, you're on the Isle of Wight!
Welcome: Dawn and Ken met us at the gate, and gave us a thorough guided tour of the facilities, and there's a welcome gift as well.
The cottage has only been available since July 2014, so everything was new. Perfect for two people, and as this is the Isle of Wight you are no far from anything, although if you eat out of an evening, you do need to drive or hire a taxi.
View: fields, trees, animals, there are 3 nature reserves, and Brading Down has wonderful views.
We had spectacular weather in September, even managed a swim in the sea off Sandown. One pub lunch after a long walk, and one evening meal in a pub for our wedding anniversary, otherwise we ate at the cottage. Fish and chips from the local caravan park are recommended - but they did shut at 7pm.
Hard to say what I didn't like, there really wasn't anything in this category.
One tip: once you arrive on the Island, ring ahead for directions, I drove past the cottage 3 times (hopefully the owners have put a sign on the gate now), and I know my way around.
