We enjoyed a wonderful Autumn week at Sierra y Mar guesthouse. Inger and Sepp serve the breakfast on the terrace as soon as the sun rises above the mountains opposite - and Inger offers all the advice you'll need for planning the day's hike in the hills - she knows the area extremely well - whether you'll hike from Ferreirola or start somewhere else or whether you want a strenuous hike or an easier walk!
Back home in the afternoons we would usually grab a cold drink from the fridge and sit somewhere in the garden and read a little or look for birds :-) and generally just enjoy the view and the peace and quiet! We most often went to the next village to have dinner - but there is a kitchen - so you could cook your own meals if you should wish to do so.
The Sierra y Mar is a lovely retreat and a great place to use as a base for exploring the Alpujarras!

Really beautiful location with walks from the door and two good places to eat a short walk away. Inger, our host, was so helpful with local knowledge, provided a delicious breakfast every morning and kept the fire stoked as the evenings are cold in February. There is a kitchen to prepare your own food and reasonably priced wine, beer and soft drinks to buy. Perfect.

This place was a definite highlight of our trip to the Alpujarras. Beautiful, quiet setting, and a lovely garden and terrace. Breakfast was plentiful, imaginative and delicious. You can do some great walks from here.

One of the best places we have ever stayed. Very happy - thanks. Comfy beds, delicious and generous breakfast in the sun. A great base for walking and easy and interesting places to eat nearby as well as a good kitchen for self catering. Thoroughly recommended and intending to go back if at all possible.

This very charming and personal B&B off the beaten track is a great find. Simple, tastefully furnished rooms, peaceful gardens, sunroof with mountain views, delicious breakfast and Inger and Sepp make it home for you.
I will be back.
