We had been travelling for 10 days but still had not had any 'down home cooking so when we were at a B&B nearby and asked for bruise.....they suggested we try here. No regret at all. Great local atmosphere..... small place packed with locals inside and out. Food was what we were looking for..we had the fish and bruise and toutons and fishcakes. Really good though I am not sure I could make a steady diet of it. We finished up our evening by walking down the road and up the rocks to watch whales. Be prepared to be stuffed.

We met up with friends who made it a point to go to Mad Rock and to stop at MadRock Cafe for BLT touton and Fish and Brewis. Amazing introduction to these Newfoundland delicacies. Simpl u delicious. Staff were most friendly and took time to explain these dishes. This place is a must.

Food was great, prepared as you waited NOT PRE COOKED. Would highly recommend the trip out o the peninsula, though it can be a little difficult to find, keep going on Water Street to the very end.

We were on a scenic drive and decided to stop at this out of place cafe. It is small, old, but has a great hosting family that explained their Newfoundland fare in great detail. The toutons (which we knew nothing about) were great. A great place to stop and learn of the history of the area while enjoying Newfoundland's simple cuisine.
