Lovely hotel in a brilliant location with very friendly staff. We were celebrating a special wedding anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it a special stay, leaving a card and rose petals in our room as well as decorating our table in the restaurant- thank you, we really appreciated it.

We had a large deluxe room on first floor. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and facilities were good.

Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals etc to self serve and cooked food made to order which was of a high standard. We ate in the restaurant each night and the food was excellent quality, served by very friendly staff.

Location is excellent, very close to Beamish museum and we caught the bus into Newcastle close to the hotel which was far more relaxing than trying to park!

A great stay, would highly recommend.

The hotel is situated in the countryside, with stunning views. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a ground floor room and were able to take the car straight to the room and take the bags in through the patio doors. Very warm and friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Would definitely book again.

We live very local to this restaurant and we're kicking ourselves that we hadn't visited sooner!
A warm welcome and two very delicious cocktails in the lounge were the perfect start to our date night. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and the atmosphere is relaxing. The service was quick and friendly. But the best thing was the food! My husband had beef brisket which was so tender and came in a rich tasty jus. I had the spicy king prawn risotto which was delicious!
We finished with salted caramel and chocolate tart served with chantilly cream and berries...divine.
I can't wait to return.
