Ok for one night...

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks ago
We just stayed one night while visiting Beamish Museum and thought the hotel was a great location for that. The hotel itself was clean and modern but did lack any atmosphere, more like a motel really. Our room was on the ground floor with patio doors and parking directly outside which was a bonus. A bit bizarre having to walk through the room they conduct weddings in and our room opened into it. l We had to wait a fair while to be seated in the almost empty restaurant despite three members of staff walking past us twice with no acknowledgment. The food was fine (when we finally got it!} but overpriced for what it was - it was just ok nothing spectacular! There was not a great deal of choice on the menu and a glass of wine costing almost £10 was a shock to us Yorkshire folk. Overall it was ok for the one night stop over but not sure if we would visit again.

Not the first time we have been, as the hotel is ideally situated between the Tanfield Railway and Beamish Museum.
Comfortable room, excellent dinner & breakfast, as we have come to expect.
Perhaps the best thing of all was the way in which a minor problem with our first room was swiftly resolved by a friendly, and very helpful, receptionist.

DUMP. No heating no double bed no service
Checked in late Saturday afternoon.was at a wedding at beamish hall.(not to be confused with beamish park)
Chucked bag in and straight to wedding.
Upon return room was cold so turned on radiator. Didn’t work. Had requested an extra large double bed and even received a message saying they’d managed to sort. It was in fact two singles pushed together with a blanket over the top. Great for sinking into middle (sarcasm)
Contacted reception and the night porter said to speak to reception in the morning. Asked about checking out straight away and getting a refund but he couldn’t make that decision. He called the duty manager who informed him they were finished work for the night and that they were just a restaurant manager anyway.
So about to endure a night in a down market premier inn with no heating and a terrible bed.

Room tip: Don’t stay here

Hosted my partners 30th Birthday in the Garden Room of Beamish park hotel. The venue was fantastic. Staff couldn't do enough for us, super friendly and helpful. We had a buffet and the food was delicious. Had plenty guests message the next day to say how lovely the venue and buffet was. Not to mention it's so reasonably priced with stunning views. The party was perfect. Can't recommend Beamish Park Hotel enough! Will most certainly be coming back :)

Food amazing.
Staff amazing.
Location amazing only thing that let it down for me was the cleaning of the rooms which was not very good at all. Towels not changed when you asked for them changing. Not cleaned in the rooms for the whole week if it was.not for that it would have been perfect.

We stayed here as a couple for a friend’s wedding in Stanley. Well located accommodation to surrounding areas and 15 minutes from the city centre,

We would have had a lovely stay other than a few areas letting it down.

I found the Mattress to be soft and in need of a change, one side you sank into the bed and caused neck ache in the morning.

Our room in particular seemed dusty, both me and my partner woke up coughing in the morning which may of well been related.

The breakfast in the morning was priced at £12.50 which is the standard cost for a hotel in 2024. Unfortunately what you got was

- single sausage that wasn’t of good quality and small
-two pieces of bacon
-mushrooms
-beans
-fried egg
-baked beans
-fried tomato
-two rounds of toast

But no black pudding or hash brown?

Was expecting at-least one of these items. I understand that times are tough for everyone but should be named a standard breakfast, full seemed a bit optimistic.

On a positive note, the Chicken Katsu curry I had on the evening menu was fab and all the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the hotel.

I would come back to stay but would want to see some things changed.
