Lovely clean room, well appointed. Food in restaurant was great as were the staff. Claire especially looked after us and made our visit lovely and with a bit of fun. Thank you, we would definitely stay again.
Hotel was well located for Beamish Museum

Nice pet friendly hotel. Welcoming staff. We had our labrador with us and were assigned a ground floor room with patio doors and parking outside which was excellent. There was a bed for dog, unfortunately more suitable for smaller dogs, our wouldn’t fit in it. There was a nice bag of doggie treats in the room, a dog bowl and mat too. Bed was huge and comfortable. Room was clean and well presented. Food - we had breakfast served to us which was good. We would stay here again . It is a convenient location for the Beamish museum.

This place is clean, cosy, peaceful, conveniently located and staff are so friendly. Food and service was great. Watched the sunset in the garden room with the fire roaring after a slightly stressful journey and felt at peace. We will definitely return to visit the Beamish Museum again and will book in again here without hesitation when we do. Thank you 🙏

Room tip: Don’t unpack before you check in.. You may have your own designated spot right next to your room!

We just stayed one night while visiting Beamish Museum and thought the hotel was a great location for that. The hotel itself was clean and modern but did lack any atmosphere, more like a motel really. Our room was on the ground floor with patio doors and parking directly outside which was a bonus. A bit bizarre having to walk through the room they conduct weddings in and our room opened into it. l We had to wait a fair while to be seated in the almost empty restaurant despite three members of staff walking past us twice with no acknowledgment. The food was fine (when we finally got it!} but overpriced for what it was - it was just ok nothing spectacular! There was not a great deal of choice on the menu and a glass of wine costing almost £10 was a shock to us Yorkshire folk. Overall it was ok for the one night stop over but not sure if we would visit again.

Not the first time we have been, as the hotel is ideally situated between the Tanfield Railway and Beamish Museum.
Comfortable room, excellent dinner & breakfast, as we have come to expect.
Perhaps the best thing of all was the way in which a minor problem with our first room was swiftly resolved by a friendly, and very helpful, receptionist.

DUMP. No heating no double bed no service
Checked in late Saturday afternoon.was at a wedding at beamish hall.(not to be confused with beamish park)
Chucked bag in and straight to wedding.
Upon return room was cold so turned on radiator. Didn’t work. Had requested an extra large double bed and even received a message saying they’d managed to sort. It was in fact two singles pushed together with a blanket over the top. Great for sinking into middle (sarcasm)
Contacted reception and the night porter said to speak to reception in the morning. Asked about checking out straight away and getting a refund but he couldn’t make that decision. He called the duty manager who informed him they were finished work for the night and that they were just a restaurant manager anyway.
So about to endure a night in a down market premier inn with no heating and a terrible bed.

Room tip: Don’t stay here
