A Truly magnificent place, we all enjoyed the magic you would expect from a cottage. Well presented and clean and beautiful location. Also Nicky was a wonderful host.
We stayed for 2 nights and didn't want to come home. A beautiful cottage, spotless, homely, everything you need including little extras such as cookies and milk. Lovely log burner to cosy up after local walks. We chose from cards in the cottage for our 6 mile walk. Excellent communication with the friendly owner, who was v accomodating. Fab local pub, cafe, shop- everything you need for a little getaway. We would definitely return and recommend to all family and friends.
Beckside Cottage is a lovely property in a pretty village on the northern fringes of Lakeland. There are plenty of nice walks in the immediate vicinity, but Keswick and surrounds are also easily reached by car. The cottage is cosy and well equipped (including a good Wi-Fi connection) and the owner Nicky could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.
We had a superb week at Beckside Cottage. Nicky met us and showed us around which was lovely - she had promised us good weather and boy did she deliver on that too! What a lovely lady! The cottage is simply gorgeous and has everything you could need. Such a cosy place so great after a good day of walking. Caldbeck is a lovely friendly village with good access to Keswick and the Northern Lakes. The Oddfellows serves good food and is only a couple of minutes stroll - handy! So sad to have had to leave - beautiful memories though
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at beckside cottage, extremely warm welcome on arrival and the cottage was a pleasure to stay in with everything you need and extremely clean.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet and cosy getaway with good walks for our dog and decided on Beckside Cottage. It was the best weekend we've ever had!
Easy to find from the M6, we were welcomed on arrival by Nicky the cottage owner who showed us around and told us everything we needed to know. We even found that she'd left us essentials, such a pint of milk and a couple of dog biscuits.
We did both recommended walks "Watersmeet" and "The Howk", as well as trekking over to a local village called Sebergham. Although we probably walked around 20 miles in total over our stay there was still so much more to potentially be explored!
The cottage itself is simply idyllic. Lovely and warm, comfy and quaint we felt at home straightaway. We cooked in the first night and found everything we could possibly need. The log burner was fantastic, and we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco while watching a couple of DVDs that were already there.
As our stay fell over a Monday, we were lucky enough to sample the local chippy van that comes to the village in the evening. We'd recommend booking over a Monday just for this alone as it was delicious. We also ate and drank at the local pub the Oddfellows. A friendly and welcoming place, with great home-cooked food.
All in all we had a perfect time at Beckside Cottage. The only fault we could make is that we couldn't stay longer and we will 100% be visiting again.
