The Crown at Sarre is everything you could wish for in a British country Inn – a warm welcome, a clean and tidy room, an excellent bar, fantastic food. Nothing seems to be too much trouble to Clive and Penelope (mine hosts).
The inn is located close to the centre of Kent and the beautiful countryside – on the doorstep – provides opportunity for an evening stroll or a day’s hiking. But on the edge of Thanet, there are excellent tourist attractions such as Leeds castle, The Powell-Cotton Museum (brochures at the inn), and roman ruins, and much more. Excellent swimming in nearby Herne Bay and Whitstable (famous for its oysters).
A new ticket is available on the bus providing very reasonable transport to the day, for individuals and families. Sarre is an ideal base for a shorter holiday, and more than ideal if you want to taste the local beer. Evening and Sunday meals are fantastic. Also an ideal stopover on the way to Dover.More
