This is a very nice restaurant - it's quite large but it was quiet on the Sunday evening that I was there. I had the lamb ribs entree which was delicious though the ribs were a bit larger than you would see in Australia (it was NZ lamb) and a bit tougher as well. However it is almost a main course in itself. I had the Malai Kofta as a main and it was superb. I like spicy food but neither course was particularly spicy and the flavour was really very good.
Mehfil is not a "cheap eats" Indian diner - their most expensive banquet menu is £50pp but I just ordered two dishes from the menu which has an ample selection of vegetarian, fish and meat courses.
The staff were friendly and efficient - and not 'in your face". My waiter had spent time in Australia on a farm in Victoria so we chatted a little about that. He had worked for P&O for a time and had visited various Aussie ports. A worldly fellow and charming with it.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
