“"Great place and village to stay"”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

There was 3 couples within our group, we have just had a 2 great days staying at the Woolpack and would highly recommend it to all our friends, in fact we are now discussing when we can return. Everything about the place, all of the staff were very helpful and welcoming from the time we arrived right up to the morning we left, the food was excellent , local products and was all very good value for the money plus a very reasonably priced wine was on offer.
2 couples stayed in the main pub building and the other couple was in the converted barn across the small road - NO problems. All the rooms were very spacious( 2 were four posters ) clean and warm at all times.

The village was very clean and all the locals were very helpful and friendly we even attend the church service on the Sunday morning.

Can’t wait to return !

Room Tip: go there you will not be disappointed

We stayed here for a weekend and had a fantastic four poster bed room. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and roomy. It had a large bathroom too. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The pub has a great atmosphere and the food was delicious and good value. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed one night from the recommendation of the Tourist Information in Canterbury and found a lovely inn with a good bar and great food. We had the room in the main house and it was very comfortable, just be careful of the stairs going down to the ensuite, yes stairs inside the room. Very quaint. It was a lovely and it had all the amenities and the bed was very comfortable. We also booked a second single room which was across the road. But don't let that put you off it is not far away and another lovely spacious room with ensuite. What we didn't know was that it was room only so breakfast was extra because we just assumed most places in the UK were B&B. I would very much recommend the Woolpack Inn and Chilham is a lovely little unspoiled village.

We had originally booked a hotel in next village but they cancelled and booked us in here instead.

Our room was number 8 a double in annexe to main building. Very comfortable and clean.

The only downside was no hot water in the morning as a guest had left hot tap running overnight.

We stayed one night only on our way to visit friends further south. Set in a picturesque village it is a quaint and interesting old inn.

Dinner was excellent. I had the pigeon and my partner had moules. Breakfast was also exceptionally good.

We would stay again if we are in the area.

Booked a room in this inn for the weekend and had a lovely relaxing time.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The inn is in a great location in the village. Although small, the rooms were comfy, clean, and cozy. I had a twin room for single use and the beds were comfy and there were lots of pillows. There was a kettle and coffee/tea supplies in the room. My room overlooked the garden area of the pub. I expected this might be noisy but it wasn't at all. The only issue was that this area is very brightly lit and blackout curtains in the room would be nice. My bathroom only had a shower stall (no tub) which was fine with me. Great water pressure on the shower- could go from a tinkle to flay your skin off (and everything in between). It was a warm weekend and the heat was on in the room, with no way to turn it off, so it was a bit warm for my liking.

The grounds were well cared for and I enjoyed Sunday breakfast in the outdoor seating area.

The pub and restaurant area were both comfortable and cozy. I had two meals in the restaurant. The food, for the most part, was average pub fare. However, my caesar salad had fresh made (still warm!) croutons and the steak and ale pie was excellent. They use locally sourced meat and produce on their menu, though I was surprised that didn't include local cider.

Check in and out was easy and superfast and I was able to charge my meals to my room and pay the full bill on check-out. The rooms and meals were reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, laidback, and accommodating. Overall, had a peaceful, relaxing time and enjoyed my stay, Would definitely come back and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: If you are in rooms 14 or 15, they overlook the outdoor seating area which is brightly lit- you migh...

We found this place on laterooms.com as we were looking for a place near Dover following a day trip to France and an early evening arrival. We managed to get lost thanks to our GPS taking us to the wrong "the Street" but the hotel was very helpful in guiding us over the phone to their place.

Once we arrived, it was easy to check in and one of the staff kindly moved her car so that we could park outside our "inn".

We came here as a family of five (3 children aged 12, 5 and 5) and the room provided was very comfortable with enough beds for us all.

We stayed for breakfast and the hostess was lovely and friendly and the food was good (average of about 6 pounds per head for breakfast that included a continental spread and hot food).

The staff were very friendly, the room very clean and we would highly recommend staying at this place again.
