A warm welcome and good food make this pub a real favourite of mine. On our last visit I had the chicken and leek pie. The food comes in generous portions and the landlord cheerfully wrapped my new potatoes in silver foil to take home as the size of the portions had defeated me.
The Rose and Crown is a true local patronised by the villagers but its reputation also brings in visitors so it's best to arrive early.
Stelling Minnis is set in beautiful countryside and the pub is a great setting off point for a walk on the Minnis.

After an 8 mile walk I was gasping for a beer and some lunch, the pub was able to satisfy one of these requirements however I was most disappointed Sunday lunch was not being served after 2.30 on Sunday lunchtime!

We travelled out here today for a birthday lunch for 4 of us. We were welcomed by Stuart the owner who we had not seen for a few months due to work commitments. We sat in the conservatory and ordered 4 roast dinners , the quantity and quality of the food as always was fantastic . We had a pudding each after all made locally and coffees. The staff are always polite and helpful which-we always show our appreciation by a good tip. This establishment is always busy so book up in advance .

We had reserved a table for sunday lunch. We arrived very early but it wasnt a problem. We were served quickly and the food came quickly. A good meat portion and plenty of fresh vegetables, all nice and hot. A home made crumble and custard followed. Good value for money

Went today with a group of Ramblers. When we arrived the pub was very busy but they had reserved a table for us and the food arrived promptly, was well-presented and well-received. The atmosphere with the fire, good beer and such friendly, helpful service made it very difficult to leave to continue the walk. Would definitely recommend this pub.
