I visited the site April 1, 2018, listened to a detailed explanation of the windmill, it was like a free lesson on the old technology, and then enjoyed a tea break in a family-like environment..

The windmill is only open on Sundays and bank holidays. It is owned by KCC and ran by local people. It offers visitors, families and anyone interested a unique and friendly experience. Teas and scones can be purchased and there is guide to take you round the windmill and museum.

Despite being closed due to the winter
There was a man who shouted hello and waved to my son from the top of the windmill and it absolutely made my sons day

Hope to return in the summer

What a lovely little find. Very interesting tour by one of the volunteers although you have to be quite agile and nippy to get up the steps. Cream tea to finish the lovely sunny day.

Run by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Short guided tour was interesting. Cream teas were excellent and good value. Entry is by donation towards the upkeep of the windmill. Worth a look on a sunny afternoon.
