The building of quite impressive exterior in the heart of the city. You can feel thatthe museum is not deprived of attention of the town administration. Now it is difficult to imagine that once museum began with a basement and was of local lore. Now it is a real museum and exhibition center, which has a decent area and combines the functions of the former local history museum and art salon. The latter helps the museum to survive, delivering to it additional money from the sale of handicrafts and paintings. In addition, part of the area of the museum is rented to outside organizations to somehow ensure the financing of its activities. Occasionally, the museum premises are used as a music and entertainment hall, where concerts , for example, of piano music, are held.
But my greatest respect is due to the presence in the museum of works of Serov, Konchalovsky, Falk and even Kiprensky.
