I have been to this shop twice in the last couple weeks and could not be happier! Ron really took care of our group - helped with arranging transportation, got us set up with gear, gave a thorough briefing before leading some awesome dives and was so willing to answer questions about what we saw after and make sure our log books were up to date.

The amenities are awesome and I felt really taken care of the entire time. I really appreciate all of the staff and their hard work - looking forward to coming back!!!!

We just returned from this gem of a resort and I almost want to keep it to ourselves. This is a very personal experience all the way around! The main staff are at breakfast almost every day asking how things are, correcting any concerns. There were none to correct....

The food is absolutely fabulous, not an exaggeration!! The best cuisine we have had on a vacation in many years. We paid for the meal plan and was very satisfied! We ate in town the last night and wished we had stayed at the resort.

The room was very comfortable and well appointed. Plenty of room for all my camera gear, plus had a full kitchen with coffee make and micro!! Was water front and close to everything, but not so close to be a problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience and writing a review. We are so glad you found everything to your liking, enjoyed the food, and were pleased with the amenities. Barefoot Cay is the perfect place to get away from it all for a relaxing vacation, and it sounds like you were able to do just that. We hope you will return soon!

We spent one week at Barefoot Cay at the beginning of August. It was very enjoyable and we would not hesitate to return.

The room was very spacious and clean, bed was comfortable and the A/C was functioning very well. The kitchen was very convenient, allowing us to prepare breakfast every day, a big fridge for storing food, drinks, etc. Beautiful view from the balcony! Wifi worked great.

The only fault we found with the room is that we could not get the sliding doors to the balcony to lock and on the second to last day, the door lock to our room also malfunctioned and despite reporting it to the front desk, it was not fixed.

The dive shop and boats were conveniently located on the ground floor directly underneath our room and going diving was as close as going down a flight of stairs.

Diving was great! The reefs are in great condition, very healthy and teaming with lots of life. Some of the best Caribbean diving we have experienced.

We ate dinner at the restaurant on the island were the resort is located, every night. A small barge goes back and forth for the 1 minute crossing. The head chef came out and told us he was very flexible and could make any substitutions we desire. The food was great. Unfortunately he left to take care of some business on the mainland and the chef he left in charge, while still good, was not quite as flexible. Food is expensive.

The only disadvantage is that the resort is far away from everything. To go to the grocery store is $ 15.00 by taxi and I assume that going for dinner to another restaurant would be about the same. So we never left, except 2 grocery store runs and an afternoon drive to see West End and West Bay. We hired a cab for that too.

All in all, we had a great time at Barefoot Cay!

This place is perfection. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom villas and it was a dream come true. So clean and comfortable, right on the water, with our own quiet private beach, hammocks, deck,, lounge chairs right on the sand. Decent snorkeling right off the palapa, a nice pool, great food. What impressed me the most about this place was the commitment to service by the staff. Every little thing was taken care of and we just felt pampered. Even the towel art was amazing!

It is a very different vibe than the west side - quiet luxury paradise. The dive shop was amazing too and accommodated our family of 4 who needed 4 different things ... regular diver, certification dives, refresher course and non diver wanting to try it for the first time - they made it all happen! Thank you so much for a great vacation.

The Caribbean is blessed with many beautiful resort destinations, and for those with unlimited budgets you can certainly find a resort offering more at double or triple the price. The cost of this resort ranges from a very affordable rate at the “dive suites” to the more upscale accommodations on the small cay across the canal in 1-2 bedroom options detailed on their website, but I am ranking this as midrange in pricing. We stayed at one of the 2 br bungalows and enjoyed great privacy and open water views. The bungalow was simple, charming and very comfortable.

We did two dives daily, We’ve had the privilege of diving with some outastanding dive operators on Little Cayman and Saba - the dive operation here was not at that level with respect to dive master knowledge of local biology and individualized attention, but still very good overall. Dive sites were generally a 6-12 minute boat ride, and we always returned to port for dive interval instead of bobbing in the boat between tanks which was a huge plus for me. The dive sites were significantly better than Grand Cayman and Turks, a hair better than Little Cayman - a notch below Saba.

We enjoyed our meals at the resort restaurant. All of the staff we encountered, from housekeepers, waiters, office staff, and even the guys running the pontoon boat ferry from the cay to the office, were pleasant and cheerful without exception. The managing partner of the owner group, Gary Lewis, goes on the first dive every day and lives on site, and I am sure his level of involvement plays a big role in the positive service aspects of the resort.

Negatives? I could whine about some minor deficiencies but do not feel they’re worth mentioning. Skip the meal plan since it doesn’t offer a significant savings compared to individual meal cost.. If you don’t enjoy bone fishing or diving this resort may not be for you. There is not really any beach, and activities beyond diving and fishing are limited. Bugs do live here - but various repellents kept the “bite count” tolerable.

My top endorsement: we’re already planning our return trip!

Room Tip: One br bungalows fine for a couple - but only 2 units so book well in advance
