Was a great tour through the goal
Had breakfast at the cafe before a tour of the goal
Was good to walk through with a guid and listen to the escape stories
Can walk back through the goal after the tour has finished
Would like to go back and do a ghost tour

The self guided audio tour here is way less interesting though around the same price as Barcelona's Sagrada Familia cathedral. So for the price I got a machine where "low battery" kept popping up and a walk around a confusing layout. Luckily we only had an hour before closing for a 1.5 hour audio tour so we sped through and saw everything (which wasn't that much). The few displays of photos/equipment were fairly poor.
Some may prefer the guided tours including night ghost tours or laser shooting your mates in the dark.
I was with 2 pensioners (including my 88 yo father who delivered fruit and veg here as a young bloke). It was $70 not well spent.

To be honest, the tour was interesting but its not a very good area for a function. Our tour guide was great, very informative, and it interesting to see the old place.
As a function centre, it sucked. We were in winter, and it was cold, with no heating, and our band echoed badly due to the concrete floors and walls. Our function was August 2016, not Oct 2016 as the when did you travel drop down box says, I couldn't get it back that far.

WE visited on a Thursday afternoon and were the only two customers. The self guided audio tour is very effective, informative and easy to use. It can be chilly and dress accordingly because much of the tour is outside.
Our visit took 90 mins and could have taken longer, so allow plenty of time.
My only criticism is that it is expensive since no staff other than on reception, are involved. Adults - $23, concessions [ $17
