“Cosy pre-Christmas treat”
Reviewed January 1, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

I've always dreamed of sleeping in a treehouse so couldn't resist booking Into the Woods when I saw it recommended on TA. The only risk with realising a dream is that it might be a let down in real life but this was definitely not the case! As we followed the trail of lights through the dark winter wood when we first arrived, my youngest son as if we had booked Narnia for the weekend - and part of me wouldn't have been surprised if Mr Tumnus had turned up to hand over the keys. As well as being magical, the treehouse accommodation is of a very high standard. I was worried that it might have been a bit cold in December but it was cosy and toasty at all times. Fiona was very welcoming and helpful and even made sure the log burner was blazing away when we arrived. Comfy beds, lovely shower, good selection of games which meant no-one missed the TV all weekend and the feeling of having an adventure whilst being surrounded by mod cons - perfect. Will def book again as would love to see the treehouse in the different seasons. Very close to Osbourne House (we went to the Festival of Christmas there which we all enjoyed).

“Extended Family Holiday”
Reviewed August 16, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were a party of 6, 2 grandparents, 2 parents and two children aged 3 and 5. The location is convenient being 10 minutes from the Fishbourne ferry terminal and within easy reach of all the island attractions. The location is idyllic, in particular the safe 1/2 acre paddock in which the tree house is situated is excellent for families with small children. The kids can run round and play in the paddock in complete safety. There are even two swings and a selection of games and toys for them to play with. The accommodation is very good with a well appointed kitchen and a cosy log stove in the event of cold days or nights. The sleeping pod is good with enough room for 6 people 2 in a double bed and 4 in the bunk bed plus mezzanine area in the roof. Overall a very good experience and a great setting and location. Wootten bridge has a filling station, fish and chip shop, Tesco express, chinese and Indian take aways if you want a cheap and cheerful break from cooking,

One or two minor points that did not detract from the overall experience but perhaps warrant a mention:

The futon and thinnish mattress in the mezzanine sleeping area was found to be a bit uncomfortable by those who slept there.

The loo could really do with a real (plastic) seat as the wooden arrangement does beg some hygiene questions.

The best route to the Treehouse, in my view, is via Palmers Rd and Brocks Copse Road. The route prescribed by the owner involves a right turn on the blind corner between Alverstone Rd and Brocks Copse Rd. where you just have to pull out and hope no one is coming !

That said we would and indeed have recommended The Treehouse to friends and neighbors with young families.

“Perfect Weekend Break for Families / Groups.”
Reviewed July 13, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a fabulous time at Into the Woods and we definitely recommend it for families.

We stayed at the Hideaway and The Pig, with two families and grandparents plus 2 young children (aged 3 and 4) and 2 babies. We all really enjoyed the location - a nice secluded open field perfect for the children as it was safe and contained but with enough hiding places to make it interesting and fun.

The Hideaway huts are brilliant. While lovely and new they are very homely and include all you need. The beds were super comfy too! It was great not to need to pack towels or toiletries. The huts are also surprisingly warm. In terms of space it felt like staying in a more modern version of the caravans I stayed in as a child, but with more luxury, character and charm.

The kids enjoyed playing in The Den and watching the chickens.

The site is much more peaceful than I expected, with only another house for rent (plus The Den can be rented). It could work really well for large groups too.

It's close to everything and so there is plenty to do, in all weather. We had a day on the beach and at the Garlic Farm followed by a day at the steam train when it rained.

I definitely recommend staying here for anyone looking for something a lot more comfortable than camping but with all the same outside space and sense of getting away from it all.

We visited the treehouse for my 30th birthday on January with some of my friends and we loved it!Some of them, stated that it was the best experience they ever had!I'm really glad that all of my guests were happy in the end of our trip. When we arrived, there was a homemade cake ready for us and I personally found it very thoughtful. The rooms, kitchen and living room were clean, luxurious and cozy!Especially the wood burner in the living room was creating such lovely atmosphere. We had so much fun with the games and generally with one another, that we almost didn't go out from the house!I recommended this place already to everyone I know.We had a look in the Hideaway and the Den which are the rooms next to the treehouse and they looked great too! Also, the response of Fiona via e-mails was very quick.I would definitely go back with any excuse!

“Total escapasism we loved it!”
Reviewed March 14, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

The tree house is located in a wonderful, peaceful and natural environment not far from the fishbourne ferry terminal.
We stayed for a week and totally relaxed with our 2 boys by playing outdoors and visiting a few of the many places suitable for young children.
The sleeping accommodation has been well thought out with bunk beds and a secret hideaway, we were really impressed with the quality of decor tthough out . The separate kitchen/lounge area was lovely with log burnerand was well equipped.
The kitchen has large French doors opening out onto the decking area giving a great view of the paddock which has a few swings dotted around which we all had fun on!
We are a family of 4 but found this increased to 5 around meal times when the lovely Tess (owners dog) arrived and was happy to be played with.
Will and Fiona were happy to help with any query, one being adapting our child gate to fit at the top of the stairs and arranging child care at short notice.
We are looking forward to returning perhaps in the summer, with extra supplies for Tess.
