We went with the family for a birthday lunch at The Bell Inn.My daughter had booked weeks ago. When our party arrived(there were 6 of us + a baby) we were told because there were so many people having a drink in the garden(it was a lovely day) we may have a delay of about 15 minutes before being served. We ordered drinks, the speciality gins are really worth trying. Then we ordered our meal.We all had the main meal without a starter. Then we waited, and waited....and waited.40 minutes later my husband enquired why we were waiting for such a long time. The waitress seemed flustered and asked if we wanted to speak to the manager,we said no could they just hurry the food up,please. The grandchildren were getting restless and hungry, and so were the adults. The food arrived at last, after almost an hour. The food was delicious, well cooked and well presented, but the wait!

If people have booked surely they should take priority over "walk-ins" ? There is such competition in that part of Stratford with so many really good places to eat,The Bell Inn had better employ more waiting staff to cope with busy times,or they will find people going elsewhere.

Room Tip: I was reviewing the restaurant

Had a lovely evening / night in this fabulous Inn. Loved everything about it. Sumptuous rooms. Lovely bathrooms. Delicious food. Extensive and good wine list. Supper and breakfast served by people who care! Really first class. Would maybe have had slightly dimmer lighting in the restaurant (like more candles). Breakfast was served by a lovely young lady who was fun.

Loved the fact that dogs were welcome in the pub too!

Thank you. We will definitely come back!

Celebrating a 70th birthday with 3 other ladies we were treated very well and we were all pleased. Waiters were attentive and polite. Food was very good. Because there is a high ceiling there was little noise from other diners.
Recommend the shared pudding.

My boyfriend and I went for a meal on a Saturday evening after work, we had a beautiful starter and for the main I opted for the fish and chips and my boyfriend, the £25 ribeye steak.

The fish and chips was okay, it was nice but nothing special however, the steak was inedible, completely fatty and grizzly thought and absolutely flavourless.

We notified the waiter immediately and they had it taken off the bill however my boyfriend was left hungry and annoyed after a long day at work.

It’s a shame your boyfriend had had such a long day at work and was feeling annoyed especially on a Saturday evening. We’re sorry that you didn’t enjoy the food or your experience. We would urge you to come back under more relaxed circumstances.

Stayed in The Bell with friends to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. And what a day it was!!!
Our room - Eaton Hall; was fantastic with everything catered for and a lovely comfortable bed. We had lunch and dinner there and both were exceptional!!!
Duo of Lamb was delicious!!!
Hotel had organised entertainment and the place was hoppin....... and boppin to a great mix of tunes.
Breakfast was excellent!!
Some might say it’s expensive for a pub/hotel but its worth the money! Lovely rooms, great food and Sean and his staff make sure everyone is looked after.
Would highly recommend!!!
