We were travelling up the western side of France, from Cognac to Brittany via the Vendee area and were looking for somewhere for an overnight stop that was quiet and relaxing. We found this hotel via an Internet search and although there were no previous reviews on this web site we felt that as it was a Logis registered hotel it was likely to to be fairly good. The hotel is located down at the end of a country lane - there is no noise at night except for the odd cow or other farm animal. The hotel being surrounded by fields and the stream.
On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised that the standard of accommodation and reception were very good and the prices very reasonable.
We ate a extremely good value and pleasant evening meal, that included lots of local produce and fish.
The buildings are a mixture of converted water mill and modern extension with rooms in both parts. The mill stream still flows next to the main building. The conversion was obviously completed a few years ago to a high standard and the overall impression is of good quality, clean and reasonable value hotel that would be a good base for touring the area or as a stop over as we did.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone.
