“Beautiful relaxing cottage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2012

We had a single night while travelling down to Brisbane, What a lovely romantic setting. Our cottage was roomy (can't remember which one it was but it was behind the owners quarters). Very quite with spectacular views over the valley.

Our delightful host was most courteous and offered us some complimentary fresh laid eggs for breakfast. The cottage has all mod cons with a nice balcony to look over the valley. Was fun feeding the girls (hens) left over bread while we had a morning cuppa.

We will be back for a longer stay

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and found your cottage roomy and comfortable. The 'girls' do love to mingle with guests who stay in the Bush Cottage because sometimes food falls from the veranda! We'd love to see you again sometime soon.

If you're after a weekend away from the kids or just some downtime for yourself, this little Llama Farm is just beautiful! The cottages are well equipped and decorated in clean, crisp decor with AMAZING views of the valley. Best time of year to head, in my opinion, would be autumn/winter when you can cozy up with a nice glass of red wine on the verandah and look over the misty valley and mountains (hope for rain too, it's brilliant when it rains!). Not forgetting the llamas, they're just adorable! As this place is a couples retreat and does not cater for children, there is something really great about being at a llama farm and not having to share their attention with shrieking little ones (just excited big kids!). The place is beautifully calm and the llamas really put a smile on your face. We have stayed here a few times and most times the other cottages have been occupied although we've never been bothered at all by other guests, it truly feels as if you've got the place to yourself! I can't recommend Dayboro Cottages & Llama Walks enough for a relaxing getaway. The owners are fantastic and very helpful. You can also walk and feed the Llamas, although we've never wanted to venture too far from the verandah and those amazing views. On the rare occasion we do want to head out and about, there are some lovely drives and the village has a couple of great places to grab a coffee and bite to eat on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Check out the local art gallery too! Relax and enjoy some peace and quiet!

Room Tip: There is a cottage with a spa, we've not managed to book it as yet, but I imagine it's just...

Thanks so much for your detailed review! I'm sure others really appreciate the tips and advice. We are really pleased to hear that you find your time here very relaxing, that's the aim, to provide a place where people can just get away from it all and unwind. The spa cottage is really popular, so it's best to book that one in advance if you can. But the views from all of the cottages are lovely as you know! Hope to see you again soon!

Sadly to say my circumstances changed and I was unable to hold my booking for a lovely weekend at Dayboro Cottages, On requesting that the full payment be debited from my credit card as a no show the extremely polite lady declined the offer and offered to hold my deposit for a future visit.

This is what I call true old fashioned customer service! 10 out of 10!

I am really looking forward to my future visit

We stayed here looking for a quiet night away. We stayed in the spa suite which has a beautiful view out over the valley.

There was a self contained kitchen and BBQ and clean, modern bathroom.

This is not 5 star but is very cosy, clean and comfortable.

You don't need to leave your cabin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are pleased to say the lady on management was very nice.

I would definitely go back here.

I tried to stay here but was over booked and alternative was way up the hill not at all impressed with the place or WOTIF, DO NOT BOOK WITH WOTIF, they are not helpful at all and will give you a less than satisfactory alternative and will not come to the party and blame you for not looking at your alternative properly, you are supposed to do more research on the place you have been bumped too, so unhappy and will take it further.

We are really sorry that you had a bad experience and didn't get the chance to stay. Obviously, there was a major mix-up with your booking, through no fault of your own. It is very rare for wotif to make a mistake, so the issue probably stemmed from here and again we apologise. A lot has changed, including management and booking systems in the last year and we are pleased to say that these kind of mistakes are a thing of the past! We hope you will come stay with us sometime soon!

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. It is really good to hear that you find our cottages relaxing and enjoy your time here! We had lots of guests agreeing with you, that the website didn't do the place justice, so we have a new one now, check it out, and tell us what you think!
