My fiance and I stayed at 6 Stanco for a week last June as part of a month-long, cross country trip. Ruth and Andrea were wonderful hosts and the accomadations were superb. Having lots of space and a full kitchen was such a treat. We had the good fortune of being there for the village's annual pot-luck porchetta roast. In addition to getting to know Ruth and Andrea, we were able to spend time with the delightful neighbor, Gabrielle, who is a true Italian renaissance man (at least in all matters culinary).
Also, be sure to eat at the small restaurant on the way from Grizzana Morandi, named Trattoria Nel Castagneto. Christina and her family will serve you one of the simplest but best meals you will eat in all of italy. My fiance and I were on a foodie quest, eating at some big name and fancy places all around the country and the food at Nel Castagneto was in the Top 2 of meals we had.
I should also note that, if you haven't been to the hillside area of Emilia-Romagna, you will be blown away at how gorgeous it is. It was, in our opinion, the most beautiful place that we visited, second to the Cinque Terre.More
