First note, this is not a Best Western as of June this year. No doubt they found it difficult to meet BW standards. Secondly, there is no hotel restaurant, it closed three years ago and is now a breakfast room. Numerous dining establishments are within a 10 minute walk. The Skytrain is also close by.
Breakfast was typical dried eggs from a bag and non-palatable sausage. It never changed in the time we stayed. At least at Holiday Inn there is a variety.
A 1970s décor with a Scottish theme, the place is in need of a deep clean to rid it of that funky old hotel smell. (1970 may have been the last time the windows were cleaned). While the rooms and bath where spacious, the amenities were dated. No hi def.TV. No wireless phone. Dangerously, the shower had no heat balancer in it – switching to scalding hot without notice!
Staff was helpful and friendly. However, this is a cash cow for the owner who’s spent minimally in return.
