The house and 3 course breakfast was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the owners Brian & Virginia. Brian was helpful and informative regarding the area. The location is convenient to the Capilano suspension bridge (walking distance) and Grouse mountain only 5 minute drive.

we had actually been recommended a holiday inn or similar on the way to Vancouver Island but found this gem of a place on line. Immaculately set up with lovely garden and exquisitely furnished interior. Perfect to relax after a long drive through the rockies amazing breakfast. on site parking, surprisingly easy to drive over to Stanley Park the next morning prior to taking the horseshoe bay ferry . oh and great eatery nearby and a small ( in house) library to browse

I am so glad that I picked Thistledown House for the last few days of our trip. Everything about it was perfect. At check in we were asked about what we liked and didn't like for our breakfast, given a tour and shown to our room. The room we booked was great, it had a cute little nook with a couch in addition to the bedroom area and bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. The rest of the house was nice as well but the best part was the yard. We had such a nice time enjoying the outdoors, sitting in the chairs with a glass of sherry. The breakfast was crazy! It was like being at a gourmet restaurant, there were multiple courses and the food was high quality. We enjoyed the conversations we had with the employees and other guests. All the little extras show that the entire experience is important at Thistledown House, you can grab some port or sherry, snacks, tea, water or even swap a book from their mini library. You get way more than what you expect for the nightly rate. The other cool thing is that they are right down the street from Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. It is only a 5-10 minute walk door to door. If you are looking for a place in the area I highly recommend Thistledown House.
