We love this town and camped here for 50+ years. Getting up and seeing the lake is what its all about. Safari Beach Resort affords these beautiful views. Other than a couple minor issues (bbq needed cleaning, no bbq brush, bad shower spray) we enjoyed our stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean and functional however the tile floor is brutal if you drop anything. We'll be back next year.
We book ever year and this place never disappoints , we are so luck to have little places still like this around , family loves coming here every year and so do the kids 9 & 14, Resort is super clean and upkeep really well , will be looking forward to 2025
Went with another family and we all had a blast. What a lovely gem and relaxing vacation. There are some pros & cons.
Cons:
Carpet and floor had some sand upon arrival.
Few spoons were uncleaned and had food scraps on them inside the drawer...which forced me to rewash all the dishes/cutleries before usage (not a great way to start the vacations...dishes by hand...). Luckily I brought a scrubber as they don't provide this.
The bunk bed squeaked rather loudly every time the top bunk person turned their body. All of our bodies ached because of the old mattresses.
The dinner chairs need to be replaced. Or at least give them a good wash!!! They are filthy!
My friends stayed in room 211 and they had two ikea arm chairs. It comes handy when unwinding at nights instead of sitting on the dinner chairs to watch tv.
Pros:
Two very nice pools, one heated, one not. Enough room for the kids to goof around and more! They have water guns and balls for the guests to use.
Kitchen was equipped with the basics. You just make due as you are on vacation. Having said that...a salad spinner would be nice, lol.
The resort keeps the beach clean, there are long bbq skewers for guests to use for smores and hotdogs! On thursdays they provide hotdogs/smores for the kids. A very lovely treat indeed. There are enough beach lawn chairs for all guests.
Laundry room has 2 washers/driers and only $2/$1!!! Do bring your own laundry pod though, or it's available for purchase as well.
AC is strong enough to keep the studio rooms cool during 35C days.
Overall, will definitely return with friends and family for a relaxing holiday.
Perfect place family vacation spot on a private beach . Boat is tied up at a wharf ( not buoyed in the lake ) just a few steps from our room.. Motel is walking distance into town. Can't beat the staff ! Paul, Carole, Lottie, are amazing ! They all go out of their way to make sure everyone has a wonderful holiday. I can't recommend this place enough
