I really enjoyed my stay here. I came for a conference, and stayed two nights. The hotel is beautiful, new and shiny. More importantly, it's location is phenomenal. Every window opens up to a beautiful view of the Rockies, since Canmore is situated at the foot of the mountains. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern. The bed was very comfortable.
Service was also a highlight. While the staff is young (many are international visitors), they are friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean, and the food in the restaurant is great.
Now for the negatives - there are only two:
1. The fitness centre is poor. The cardio equipment is old, and uncalibrated (the treadmill says it's at 0% incline, but it's definitely not). There are limited freeweights and a cross-training weight machine (for fly-s, etc). But that weight machine is also uncalibrated - 20 lbs on one side was much heavier than 20 lbs on the other. Strange! The room was also >26 degrees in the morning due to lack of air circulation.
2. My sleep was interrupted by someone walking around upstairs, and the light fixture rattling. This person walked back and forth until 1am, and started doing it again at 5am. While I was okay with the thumping steps (which were muted), the light fixture rattling was obnoxious.
Overall, this was a nice hotel, with some weaknesses. I enjoyed my stay!
