“Great mountain resort - location not the best Canmore offers.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

A group of 11 of us stayed in two rooms from a Wednesday to Saturday at the beginning of feb. Being one of the first hotels as you enter Canmore from the west, it isn't very walk able to some Canmore amenities like restaurants or Safeway. About 10-15 minute walk to main downtown street.

That said, the actual resort is wonderful. Rooms are spacious, we stayed in one two bedroom suite and one three bedroom suite, both were very nice with housekeeping every day. One downside of the rooms is that we had music playing and even at a middle range volume you could hear it a little ways outside of the room. We never got any complaints, but until our last night, the resort was relatively empty so I wonder if it would have been more problematic had it been busier.

As for the hot tub and pool, they were both fantastic. The pool is salt water, heated and a refreshing dip from change from the hot tub. The hot tub was a good size, fitting all of us in no problem.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially if you can find a deal. Canmore is a beautiful town and definitely a good choice if you are planning a mountain getaway or a ski trip.

Upon arrival we were greeted with all smiles and to our surprise, we were upgraded from a king suite to a 2 bedroom king suite! The room was very clean. cozy and had everything needed and wanted from a barbeque to a small stereo with terrific sound. The hot tub was a delight to get in. The pool was on the cold side but the hot tube was a delight to get into after a cool dip. We have already planned out next trip and are eagerly anticipating our next stay!

First of all, we did enjoy this facility and the suites are very nice ! This was our first Christmas away from home to stay in the mountains and needless to say, the mountains are majestic ! The scenery in Canmore area is outstanding. We have a few suggestions to make this resort stay a whole lot better though. The suites really need doorbells installed because we had a hard time hearing when someone was at the door. The internet wireless in our suite was simply pathetic and over our three day stay, we had to carry our laptop to the front desk area just to use the internet. That is not what anyone would like to do and it is almost embarassing actually. I suggest at least installing a stand-by good old fashioned hard-wired lan line so at least a person can stay in there own suite for privacy and relaxation. I was told that there was definitely complaints about the wireless and that there had been a few previous attempts to fix the problem but there was still no solution. I say do the right thing and even though you may have spent money trying to repair the problem, someone needs to spend the money to fix the problem for good and install the lan lines so we can just plug in our computers if need be. I for one would have been extremely happy to plug in my pc so I could upload pics and talk to my other family back home who did not go to the mountains for Christmas. Also the TV/DVD Combo was not working very well either. That was also a wireless setup between the devices.
We enjoyed the laundry facilities and had to go to Soby's to get laundry soap because not enough was left in the room to do a few loads. Also the dishwasher soap was not stocked up so we had to ask for more to wash our dishes ... remember we were having Christmas so we did cook a turkey etc., etc., which meant there were lots of dishes to wash over three days. The underground parking was awesome and I really recommend it. A little disappointed with the cleaning service as well as a few other folks were that I see in the reviews.
Just to make it clear, we did enjoy the resort and the mountains but the price is a little on the high side in my opinion and especially when you consider the things as I explained above. I would possibly stay again but I would check for rooms closer to downtown in the future just for the convenience. Sorry but just saying it how it is !

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool area and also had a great view of the mountai...

We stayed three nights in this hotel, the room was great with all the things you need for a small family, very clean and modern. The only thing is that it was small for a playpen to fit in the room but we moved a bit the bed and we were all happy

Service was excellent and the rooms definitely have a wow factor. Very clean and grand. My only complaint, the pool was much too cold to swim in. Even being 'heated', it was freezing. Other than that, great experience!

I will return when the restaurant is up and running, that was the only other downside!!

I had booked this resort as part of the spa package with a friend of mine and we are so happy with did! We paid $455 (taxes in) for 1 night accommodation in a 2-bedroom unit on the 3rd level which included a $50 voucher each for a meal at the Iron Goat Pub and another voucher each at the spa for a 1 hour massage. This was definitely a good price for all that we had plus had had requested a late check-out which was complimentary.

The staff was very friendly and the resort is very beautiful. Our unit was amazing, beautiful and so comfy. We had a good time in the outdoor hottub for which you alcoholic drinks are allowed but you have to ask for plastic cups at the lobby desk.

We stayed one night but I would have seriously stayed much longer. I just have great comments to say about this resort and I will be back for sure! I also have to say it has been one of the best sleeps I have had with their comfy large king size beds and fluffy comforters.

We had an extremely comfortable stay in this very modern and clean 2 bedroom condo. I loved the view of the mountains, and the large patios. A great feature were the HD tvs in every room, and an ipod doc in the reading room. The kitchen was very nice, and it even had a washer and dryer. I was very impressed with the detail and quality of this hotel.
