“Good family hike”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

This is a great place to take young children as a hike but should be done by everybody who visits Canmore.

“Favorite hike - hands down”
Reviewed 4 February 2012

Easy hike for choice at the start if you don't want to tempt the stone steps on the more difficult path which rates high for its views. You're rarely alone on this hike, as it is well travelled throughout the summer. Bring a light snack and a bottle of water to waste some time laying on a rock watching the rock climbers!

“Gorgeous!”
Reviewed 30 January 2012

These lakes are beautiful! And what a hike! There are two paths you can take, the easy or the more difficult. I find the difficult trail a little more fun (the easy trail seems to be an old road). The easy trail basically goes straight up. The more difficult path winds around and you get a much better view. Nice to see the vista below with the mountains and Canmore. Once you get to the top these lakes will take your breath away! They are the most gorgeous shades of green and blue. Just beautiful!

“Crystal clear waters of the rockies!”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

This is truly a beautiful hike that is not difficult to do. These are more like ponds than lakes but the water color is the most beautiful vibrant blue and also the coldest. I would not recommend entering the pools due to the temperature but also to avoid disturbing it delicate environment. You can observe the indian paintings on the rocks and watch rock climbers scale the walls surounding these two "lakes". It is worth taking a lunch so you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding but make sure you remove all garbage when leaving to preserve the environment. If you go in the spring it is also worth taking bear bells to be on the cautious side. After your hike take the time to brouse through the shops in Canmore and consider staying a night or two. Also a short drive to Banff which is well worth anyones time if in the area.
