I almost feel embarrassed because all I did here was sleep. This place is a virtual Kid's spa and if I still had ankle biters hanging around my homestead, I would get them to this property simply to burn off excess energy.
Check in was smooth as I had used Tripadvisor to book my stay. The appeal to families was immediately evident as the pool and water slide are opposite the front desk. Anyone following my reviews will know that I have a fondness for the cacophony that defines family establishments and children running around seems to make me feel closer to home. I was back and forth to my car and with my several passes through the lobby, I found a number of interesting people to chat with in front of the fireplace. I even managed to snag a business card, something I needed while as I was in Canmore to look at listing our old family property in town.
A fireplace in every room, come on! Of course it is perfect when sitting in front of the window staring out at snow capped mountains though, the loud timer on the wall does detract slightly. One would think that a quiet timer could be found but that would just be too niggly. The room was dated but very clean.
Sleep came quickly as the bed felt like an old friend. I think that qualifies the mattress as great! My room was perfect for families and had everything in the right place if staying-in is part of the evening plan. Bow Valley Trail runs parallel to the railway tracks that intersect our Banff National Park. Train noise is minimal as Pocaterra is on the north side of the road. But it does make for bit of a hike getting to the vibrant downtown core of Canmore so, a vehicle is essential for those that have mobility issues. Besides, one needs a car to get to the Banff townsite if staying longer then I was. Breakfast at properties never seems to fit into my business plan when I travel so I am unable to comment.
Yes, I would certainly stay here again!
