Good Covid precautions

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 27, 2020
They have a good process in place with disinfectant at the entrance and by the elevator. They don’t perform house keeping, so don’t enter the room. You just ask for new towels and we left the garbage outside the door. We stayed 3 nights and I always saw somebody wiping door handles and other surfaces. Instead of a breakfast buffet, we got a simple brown paper bag snack, which worked even better for us. The hotel is within a 15 minute walk to grocery stores and restaurants. There is an outside seating area which we used for social distance socializing with friends. Staff was very helpful with various requests. Only drawback is the close location to the highway, hence only 4 stars.

I almost feel embarrassed because all I did here was sleep. This place is a virtual Kid's spa and if I still had ankle biters hanging around my homestead, I would get them to this property simply to burn off excess energy.

Check in was smooth as I had used Tripadvisor to book my stay. The appeal to families was immediately evident as the pool and water slide are opposite the front desk. Anyone following my reviews will know that I have a fondness for the cacophony that defines family establishments and children running around seems to make me feel closer to home. I was back and forth to my car and with my several passes through the lobby, I found a number of interesting people to chat with in front of the fireplace. I even managed to snag a business card, something I needed while as I was in Canmore to look at listing our old family property in town.

A fireplace in every room, come on! Of course it is perfect when sitting in front of the window staring out at snow capped mountains though, the loud timer on the wall does detract slightly. One would think that a quiet timer could be found but that would just be too niggly. The room was dated but very clean.

Sleep came quickly as the bed felt like an old friend. I think that qualifies the mattress as great! My room was perfect for families and had everything in the right place if staying-in is part of the evening plan. Bow Valley Trail runs parallel to the railway tracks that intersect our Banff National Park. Train noise is minimal as Pocaterra is on the north side of the road. But it does make for bit of a hike getting to the vibrant downtown core of Canmore so, a vehicle is essential for those that have mobility issues. Besides, one needs a car to get to the Banff townsite if staying longer then I was. Breakfast at properties never seems to fit into my business plan when I travel so I am unable to comment.

Yes, I would certainly stay here again!

Checking in was easy and the staff were really nice. The rooms were updated and very comfortable. The hot tub was clean and perfect after a long day of travel, and the water slide was fun for both kids and adults alike. The complimentary cookies were a nice touch and breakfast was great! On an added note, we forgot some food in our fridge after checkout and called the front desk staff who grabbed the food from our room and saved it until we were able to pick it up later in the afternoon. Now that's some great customer service!

Rooms exactly as pictured on website! Very clean and spacious, comfy beds and had an incredible view from my balcony on 2nd floor. Good selection of breakfast items both hot & cold :) We took advantage of the hot tub and pool area to relax after a day of hiking.
Very friendly and helpful hotel staff made our stay very enjoyable 😊
We were originally going to stay just 1 night and extended it to 2 😍

We stayed for three nights, and very pleasant they were too. Nice room, with a small balcony - a shame it was north-facing - but then we weren't there to sunbathe on it so no real issue. All was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful when we asked for things. Just a bit too far to walk into downtown Canmore, well ... we could have, but we were just too lazy. Easier to drive and it was easy to park in the evening. Buffet breakfast was good but, along with other BW's we stayed at in Canada, they could never seem to get bacon and sausages on the same morning menu, always one or the other. Also, we did experience a pre-coach trip busload one morning but some very kind people let us join them. Good laundry too. Nice rabbits outside.

I was passing through Canmore on my way to Kelowna, I had a layover at this lovely Hotel. What I liked about it was that it was clean, comfortable and quiet and very well priced. The front staff we're very helpful giving guidance two local restaurants nearby, Haveing the gas fireplace was just an added bonus I would definitely recommend this place I'll come back hear again..
